Line LSU -4

Well auburn faces its third top 10 team in 4 weeks. Pretty tough road called the SEC. This game should decide the winner of the SECW barring Ole miss sneaking in the back door for their first trip ever to atlanta. Lsu D has looked very strong this year and they have the stats to back that up #1 in rushing D and #4 in total D. If you remember LSU brought the #1 D to auburn last year... However i will question what type of rushing teams the Bengals have played this year?( Miss st, UF, UGA, La monroe, western Ill, and arizona) Far from scary running teams. Mabeye these stats are a bit padded but we will see this weekend. Lsu will put 8,9,10 guys on the line to stop auburn run much like USC did. This will force Campbell to throw. It is not this that scares me but of WR lack of catching the ball. Way to many drops for these wrs. Our other weakness is our secondary which Lsu will exploit with the secs top two WRs IMO. Yeah, Yeah baton rouge night game... Didn't seam to scare UF that much? I don't buy that shit. Nevertheless this should be a rock em sock em football game with a low score. Right now i see it about 16-13 Lsu. If auburn does manage to get up early and take the crowd out by running the ball it will be a long night for the bengals. Good luck and it will be a great game to watch

FYI, LSU/Fla was a 2:30pm game. Nevertheless, good write-up. I agree that LSU has not played good running teams this year and Auburn will present a tough matchup in that sense. Gonna be a great one, I'll be there @ 8am prepping myself for the 6:45 kickoff. Oh, before I forget, LSU Senior SSJack Hunt is the Field General for the young and extremely talented LSU secondary. He was sorely missed vs. UF and returned to action against South Carolina. Without his help against the run we would have a very difficult time holding Cadillac, Brown and company in check. I predict LSU 17 Auburn 13.

Meaningless statistics:

- LSU 15-3 at home at night under Saban (maybe someone can tell me who the 3 losses were against)

- Each game against Auburn since 1997 has been decided by at least 12 points.

Some tidbits

Some tidbits

Of Auburn's last 10 opponents, seven have been ranked in the top 10 entering the game: No. 7 Georgia, No. 9 Alabama, No. 10 Penn St., No. 8 USC, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 7 Arkansas and No. 9 LSU. No other team in the nation has faced more than three top 10 teams in that span (Arizona St., Texas A&M, UCLA). Furthermore, the eight games against top 10 foes dating back to the beginning of the 2002 season is tops in the country. Arizona St. and Florida are second with six.

RUNNING BACK U Much has been made of Auburn's stable of running backs this year: Carnell Williams, Ronnie Brown, Brandon Jacobs and Tre Smith. But did you know that since 1980, 18 NFL draft picks have been used on Tiger running backs. That number is fifth highest in the nation behind Penn State (23), Nebraska (21), Miami (20) and Texas A&M (19). Auburn is also one of only two schools to have two backs taken with the first overall pick (USC is the other). Bo Jackson went first in 1986 and Tucker Fredrickson was No. 1 in 1965.F

I always heard that Georgia was known as Tailback U. That was even when I lived in Kentucky and didn't have a single tie to UGA. I thought it was pretty cool when Georgia had the top 3 RBs in the NFL one year: Terrell Davis, Robert Edwards, and Garrison Hearst. It sucked when all three players were out for the season the next year!

More Tidbits

More Tidbits

Since the beginning of 2000, in SEC/BCS games:

Auburn is 18-2 when TO margin has been Even or + (8-2 on the road; 10-0 at home)
LSU is 17-3 when TO margin is Even or + (7-3 on the road; 10-0 at home)

Auburn outscores its opponents 27-16 when TO's are even or +;
LSU outscores its opponents 31-18 when TO's are even or +;

Auburn is 4-13 when TO's are negative (1-6 on the road)
LSU is 4-9 when TO's are negative (2-4 at home)

Auburn is outscored 14-22 when TO's are negative;
LSU is outscored 19-27 when TO's are negative;

Auburn is 6-2 against ranked teams when TO's are even or +;
LSU is 8-2 against ranked teams when TO's are even or +;

Auburn is 1-6 against ranked teams when TO's are negative;
LSU is 1-5 against ranked teams when TO's are negative;

Auburn this year has fumbled 6 times; 3 by Campbell; 1 by Obomanu; 2 by the backs;
Auburn's backs have carried the ball 281 times and have two lost fubmles (1 per 141 carries)
Auburn's starting QB has thrown 3 INTs in 145 attempts (1 per 48.3 attempts)

LSU's ball carriers (Mauck included due to his draw plays) have fumbled 6 times in 272 carries (1 per 45 carries)
Mauck has thrown 6 INT's in 182 attempts (1 per 30.3 attempts)

Auburn has intercepted 4 passes in 196 attempts ( 1 per 49 attempts); 3 in 128 attempts in SEC play (1 per 42)

LSU has intercepted 10 passes in 252 attempts (1 per 25.2); but only 4 in 147 attempts in SEC games (1 per 37 attempts).

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Turnovers become more likely when teams have to throw more than they want and in predictable situations; Turnovers come with QB pressures which comes from throwing in predictable situations. Turnovers are more likely on the road; turnovers become less likely for Auburn with good defense and a solid running game; Auburn wins if it does better at taking care of the ball than its opponent.

Of course, anything can happen but if special teams can stay solid, He who runs the ball effectively has a better shot to take care of the ball; He who takes care of the ball in this match-up will see his chances of winning go up exponentially.

ive gotta take auburn in this game.
The running game has been unstopable. Should be a close game throughout but LSU has a horrible field goal kicker. So the only time they score is going to be when they get in the end zone. taking the points although i think auburn wins outright. The under might be the best play in this game.

LSU has a horrible field goal kicker. So the only time they score is going to be when they get in the end zone.

Leg strength is an issue, but accuracy shouldn't be a problem.

4-7 FG-FGA
2-3 30-39 1 blocked
2-4 40-49 1 blocked
Long: 47 yds

At least 1 of the blocked kicks was holder error. The regular holder, M Clayton, was unavailable and his replacement (QB Marcus Randall, I think) botched it. He also missed a PAT last week vs South Carolina but I did not see what happened.

Auburn will be the best rushing team that LSU has faced this year. The Tiger's(Auburn) O-Line has been playing well the last 5 games and they get Ronny Brown(RB) back this week. I see Auburn moving the ball on the ground and controlling the clock. A lot has been said about LSU's Defense and while they are a talented bunch Auburn's Defense might be even better. I see a low scoring game Saturday night with turnovers making the difference. I'll say:

AU 17
LSU 6

Good Luck All!!!:)

I feel that the top Defenses in the SEC are UGA, AUb, and LSU in that order.

I also feel that LSU offense is much more explosive than Auburn.
