Looks like the war is back on track to record another 100+ troop death month, but the surge is working. After the Iraqi government comes back off vacation next month maybe the US can get that oil law signed. Rice said Sunday that the government was not on vacation, another Bush lie, but Republicans back it, they're so easy.

Thats almost 2 a day--wonder what our inner cities produce?

I also noticed Taliban has exeucted 2 of the South Koreans--still a couple behind New Jersey ;)

Sick comparisons I know--but so is your continuous wailing of casualities in a war of less than 1/2 of 1 %--

Fortunate you weren't around in ww2-korean war or vietnam--you'd have to be put in straight jacket :)

Weasel should be by to say how happy Spy is to mention about all this carnage as well as how giddy Spy must be for the misery these families are feeling. Poor guys never will be able to experience life. I know i sure as hell don't know about anything before i was alive and i havent heard of anyone who knows anything about an after life. Could be it for these guys. Surge on

WOW...that puts it in perspective, Dogs. Thanks! It helps me figuring out the Florida congressman that was trying to give oral sex to black guys in a park. So, if we use this Republican logic, there's probably 50,000 older white men accross the country that pay to give blowjobs to black guys every night. So, one little thing like what happened with this Republican politician is nothing. Wow, Dogs. I see how you overlook this stuff now. Thanks!

They are certainly ridiculous--so is jumping in a forum and continue to whine about deaths--where was he at end of July on reporting fewest deaths since Nov despite surge??but that would be good news.

If he is pre occupied with deaths and stopping them--rather than harping on troops who in a war and volunteer to make untimate sacrifices--

He needs to direct his issues to aids or inner cities where deaths are easily preventible--not a war where they are a product of the beast.

---strange question Aupice considering you have have a senator caught punking pages and still serving??

Our Army and national Guard did not volunteer to go to Iraq""""""""""""" Dogs"""""""""" The facts are that the volunteers are minimal that's why the home front has been depleted by a Back Door draft. Every life lost for nothing but a group of despots treachery is too much.

Libertarian --I see thats why you make comment on Fla rep and republican in general and give Franks and Dems a pass.

Is there such a thing as a liberal Libertarian :)

Would guess there is better than 50/50 chance you are federal or state employee--probably teacher--

My didacticism would be found wanning for that I'm afraid. As my profile states, I'm just a really big bum. First time you ever see me, you'll shout 'JESUS, I KNEW HE WAS A BUM, BUT HE'S GOTTA BE THE BIGGEST $%^$# BUM I'VE EVER SEEN'. Happens all the time.

So having 73 families receiving their loved ones in a bodybag is good news, who's happy over body counts? This war was not preventable? All who die in Iraq and will die have done so for two reasons, oil and nothing. 58,000 died in Vietnam for nothing so why not 5,000 or 6,000 in Iraq? Oil rights will make billionaires of Bush's buddies.

i think you`d be offended at the prospect of hanging a young girl from a crane for talking to a strange man.... or stoning a homosexual to death...

yeah..this little jihadi bugs me a bit...the rest of you just worry me...

Because i bring up the fact that Bush has killed more US citizens than any living American, bothers you? Bush is doing the killing, and yet it's me you hate? With Republicans it would be fine if the American death toll were never known till after the war, whenever that will be, like sneaking the dead from the war into Dover AFB. This war is very real for alot of families, but not for Republicans and Bush, the deaths are just bad press and should be swept under a rug. BTW, bodycount is now 26.

you want body counts --heres a few to chew on--
8000 a year--I'll look up up the annual aids mortality for you next time--and you can add them together.

like I told you countless times I'll take my chances in Iraq over innner cities any day.

African-Americans are victims of nearly half the murders committed in the United States despite making up only 13 percent of the population, a report published Thursday showed.
Around 8,000 of nearly 16,500 murder victims in 2005, or 49 percent, were black Americans, according to the report released by the statistics bureau of the Department of Justice.

Broken down by gender, 6,800 black men were murdered in 2005, making up more than half the nearly 13,000 male murder victims.

Black women made up 35 percent, or 1,200, of the nearly 3,500 female homicide victims.

Young black men aged between 17 and 29 bore a disproportionately high burden in the grim statistics, making up 51 percent of African-American murder victims.

The percentage of white male murder victims in the same age group was 37 percent.

More than half the murders of blacks took place in densely populated urban areas.

Firearms were involved 77 percent of the time in homicides involving black people and around 60 percent of the time in murders of whites.

Most murder victims -- 93 percent of blacks and 85 percent of whites -- were killed by someone of their own race.

Gang violence was involved in around five percent of homicides with black victims against seven percent for white victims.

In percentage terms, whites were twice as likely to be killed by a current or former partner than blacks -- 12 percent of whites were murdered by a life partner against six percent of blacks.

You have got to be kidding! The most dangerous city in the US as far as murders per capita has been St. Louis the last couple years. Let's see, in one of their worst years in 2005 they had 131 murders there. Now let's look at Iraq in 2007 so far:

Jan-07 83
Feb-07 81
Mar-07 81
Apr-07 104
May-07 126
Jun-07 101
Jul-07 79
Aug-07 25

I'm not even going to add them up. It is obviously way over 131, and doesn't include any civilian casualties. Furthermore, your article points out that nearly half the victims are black, so that cuts the current odds down to 50-50 to be murdered in the inner city, so your chance of being murdered in St. Louis is 0.01895%. And you would rather be dropped in Baghdad, where people aren't exactly pro-American right now?

Call me naive but i have no idea the point he is trying to make here. What in the world does one have to do with the other? We are in Iraq because of a lie and a con job. when you go into or live in an inner city it is not because of a con job or a lie:shrug:
