5* - Memphis Grizzlies (+9)
Memphis has been consistently undervalued in this role all season. Against teams with a winning record, the Bobcats are 8-2 against the spread and against elite defenses that allow less than 91 points, they have covered all three of those games. Houston?s defense is not the same without Yao Ming and although they held Indiana to 76 in a 157 point game on Tuesday, they have since given up 96 and 94 points to New Jersey and Atlanta.
After firing Fratello, Tony Barone has taken over for the Grizzlies and says he is turning the players loose in contrast to the rigid set-play based offense they have been running. It showed as Memphis took down the Raptors last night in Toronto. Eddie Jones was back in the lineup and produced nicely with 8 points in 20 minutes to go along with solid efforts by Miller and Gasol as the Grizzlies combined for 106 points. These guys have been wanting to run the court all season and I like the points here as the team gains confidence in them selves and are allowed to play.
