Joba/Soria combine for 1 out last night while giving up 4 hits, 1 walk, 5 RUNS.

My 4 year old daughter could predict, based on this recent data, that this was a horrible idea to put them back into a game 12 hours later

Couldn't agree more. Wouldn't be surprised if this move costs him his job after the Orioles

I could go either way with this. I would have left Verlander in a little longer to see if he could have gotten through the 6th, but I can understand pulling him there if you want to put Sanchez in to ensure you hang on to the lead you have. I just really am still in shock that he pulled Sanchez though. Once you have him in, why not let him finish the game? At least let him go three innings. He's a starter, dammit!

I fell bad for you, man. I thought they had a great chance to win it all even with the bullpen issues. It's not over yet, but that loss was devastating to their chances.

Your daughter could probably outcoach half the managers in the game. It is mind-boggling how many times a guy is a manager even when he is completely clueless. Ned Yost springs to mind. Here's a tip if you own a team. Just because someone played baseball, it doesn't make him qualified to coach the game. That goes for color commentators, too. It's damn tough to listen to their lunacy over the course of watching a game.

I don't know if he will lose his job, but I agree that a blunder like that should get him canned.
