I'm moving to Brisbane, Australia on thursday till July. I was wondering if anyone out there had any advice. I guess my sports gambling will go into exile because of the time change... What do you do on a plane for 15 hours(LAX to Sydney)? I have never been to aussieland and i am really looking forward to it. What's the word on the Chicks down under?

wareagle, my best friend is from brisbane, we both play college golf and I got to go visit him last summer. The women IMO are not as glamorous as we have here. The best way for me to put it, "you're not going to find any barbie dolls in Australia." I will say though that we went to the beach everyday, which your not far from at all, and it was incredible. Huge beaches and just beautiful views. Great golf courses around the area also. Don't know if that is of your interest. Hope this helps. Get back with me if there is anything else that you might need answered, I'm pretty sure that I can help you and if not my buddy for sure can. Good luck on the trip. jb

England, u.k.
Ask Jack if hr can or you e-mail Paraqatsi and / or pumkin.

Both from Australia and both members here on this site.

I and my brother backed packed around Australia back in 1988. Things will have changed there over the last 15 years.

A beautiful country and the girls not to bad. Like the English accent. Very sporty. I had no trouble with them.

The Aussie humour is not what you would expect.

Just remember games being played on a Saturday starting at 9.00 ET in America will be Sunday 1 pm. So not to much difference.

The time difference from New York is around 15 - 16 hours.

Enjoy your trip

u will love it in brisbane, nice weather, chix are just plenty fine, u just have a little less time in the day to get your bets on and might have to get up a bit earlier to do your handicapping ...from memory, 7pm EST NBA games will start at 10am Brisbane time I think...
put a note in the Off the Wall forum - heaps of us Down Under crew hang out there .... shame u ain't stopping in Auckland, would have tried to shoot up the motorway and shared a beer :)

Mate.....you are going to love it here in Oz. I'm tipping you won't want to go back!! Brisbane lifestyle is a little slower than Sydney or Melbourne but it makes up for it with terrific weather all year round. Tee-shirts and shorts 10 months of the year. People are a lot friendlier also. As stated above, great beaches and plenty of glamours to perv at...don't you worry about that!! :D

You'll also get here just in time for the AFL preseason competition, which a few of us post about in the OTW section. Plenty of $$$ to be made with it ;) Make sure you get out to a few games in Brisbane (they are the reigning premiers/champs!!)
Oh yeh....just watch out for the giant cane toads and geckos!!!

Get back to us on your arrival
