Some data,
Track: A1-RING

Nb of Laps: 71 (307,146 Km)
Best Lap:
D. Coulthard - 1'11"783
(2000, McLaren Mercedes)
Record Pole:
J. Villeneuve - 1'10"304
(97, Williams-Renault)
2000 Pole:
M. Hakkinen - 1'10"410
(McLaren-Mercedes)
2000 Podium:
Hakkinen - Coulthard - Barrichello
With weather forecast predicting cold and wet for this weekend race, we might finally see the strenght of each team concerning the traction control systems. We didn't have rain in Spain while it was in the forecast, let's see now about Austria!
We all saw the bad luck of Hakkinen and now he is so far from the championship driver that i'm eager to see if he will spend the rest of the year behind Coulthard and help him vs Schum. Will Schum rest on his laurels? Don't bet on it!
In fact, as surprising as it might be, Michael Schumacher has NEVER won a race here!!!! In his last three races here, his better finishing position was third!!!
After, (FINALLY!!!!!) having a podium, Jacques Villeneuve has found his smile again and the team BAR is going, for once, in the right direction. However, they still make a lot of stupid mistakes (lack of communications, forget mechanical pieces during qualifications (yeek!!!)etc.) and have looked like amateur so far this year but the speech Jacques made before the Spain GP seems to have an effect (he finished third no?
). Some guys on that team are close of being fire so they'd better take care of business and listen to Jacques when he is mad!!!
Saubers team is going very well and Heidfeld and Rakkonen are the surprising duo for me so far this year.
The A1-Ring is not a track where it is easy to overtake but it is possible (not like in monaco where it is virtually impossible to overtake someone!) so we might see some "action" during the race! Austrian GP is usually an exciting one so we shouldn't see a boring race.
For some offshores who still don't know the hours of the qualification and the race.... (you know who you are...)
Qualification: 7h00 am Eastern time saturday
Race:8h00 ET on Sunday
Is that clear?
Back later on tomorrow !
