I was reading an article on how automobile sales in China have been consistantly on the rise, higher each year, for the past 5 years and that they are expected to rise higher within the next couple of years significantly. Considering a big boom in automobile sales in the near future does anyone know publicaly traded China automobile manufactures that maybe worth looking at. Thanks in advance.

Gouch I looked at that angle but don't think any are traded publically but I couldbe mistaken. China will make sure they monopolize their market as with cigerettes and other commodities.
Did have one in China stocks I bought thatis publically traded for auto "parts" DENMF.PK which I bought at about .60 cents a share when I got back from China in Sept. It had risen to 1.00 as of yesterday but on todays screen it is listed at .08:scared
I am hoping it is error which they make often on these stocks as I can't see a drop like that overnight---I hope!!!!!!!!

There are car companies in China but it is still early and only in time will we know which companies are going to find it profitable.

GM is in China (believe they are making the Cadilac there, or plan to), they own 45% (??) of a venture with the Chineese government. According to the report it was cashflow positive and all of the profits are going back to the company in China to increase production.

Honda is also in China but they are losing money and it will probably be the situation for the next 2-3 years.
They listed 3-4 other large car companies in China but the sales though growing are small to there overall operations.

For most companies it is just to try to get in early, to grab a percentage of marketshare. In the end DTB is correct the government will get their fair share of the profits.

thanks

Just read this, maybe there is opportunity. I will see what I can find out,and maybe others can do same. If we get some data maybe Kirk can look over and see what he thinks. I know General Motors was wanting this deal also but appears China won out.

"Creditors of Ssangyong Motors signed a deal on Monday with China National Bluestar Group to sell South Korea's fourth largest carmaker to the Chinese chemicals giant."

Can't see anyway to purchase either Blue Star or Ssangyong.
