Kansas City area for who knows how long....
team doesn't feel confident Batista's appeal will hold up, and looking at Good to probably start today. Will know this afternoon.

Fingers crossed: The Diamondbacks are hoping the league office does not issue a ruling on Miguel Batista's appeal of his suspension just prior to his scheduled start on Friday.

But just in case, they are prepared.

"We think we're covered. But even though you have contingency plans, when you have to call them into effect on short notice, it still involves some adjustments," Brenly said. "We'll keep our fingers crossed."

One likely scenario would have right-hander Andrew Good getting the start.

Good has made four appearances, including three starts since being recalled from Triple-A Tucson. A starter throughout his minor league career, pitching out of the bullpen has taken some adjusting.

"It's a little different mindset," the 23-year-old said. "For me, the best way to deal with that is to come to the ballpark thinking I'm going to pitch every day and preparing myself to pitch. Fortunately, we haven't needed too much long relief. Hey, I'm not complaining. I'm happy to be here."
