Took a little on the under. (.5 u). Leaning hard toward AZ but have seen some respectable cappers thinking SD is definately the way to go. So lets talk about this one too.

PADRES PROBABLE STARTER: Oliver Perez (3-2, 2.82 ERA). Perez left Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks with a 1-0 lead after seven innings, but the Padres bullpen kept the left-hander from his fourth win of the season. Although the 20-year-old rookie allowed only four hits and struck out seven, San Diego lost the game 7-1. Perez's last win came on July 7 at Colorado, when he allowed only one hit in 6 2-3 innings of shutout ball in a 7-1 victory.

DIAMONDBACKS PROBABLE STARTER: John Patterson (0-0, 1.50 ERA). Patterson went six innings on Saturday at San Diego in his major league debut, allowing just three hits. The only run scored against the right-hander came on a solo homer by Padres catcher Tom Lampkin. The Diamondbacks went on to a 7-1 win, but Patterson did not figure in the decision. Patterson was 6-4 with a 4.71 ERA in 14 appearances for Triple-A Tucson before being called up on June 19 to take the place of Rick Helling in the rotation.

OFFENSIVE LEADERS: Padres - Ryan Klesko, .306 avg., 17 HRs, 55 RBIs and 58 runs; Mark Kotsay, 8 SBs. Diamondbacks - Junior Spivey, .321 avg. and 62 runs; Luis Gonzalez, 19 HRs and 73 RBIs; Tony Womack, 17 SBs.

SEASON SERIES: Padres, 6-3.

STREAKS AND NOTES: Padres - 1B Nevin is 14-for-31 (.452) with two homers and 10 RBIs against Arizona this season. ... RHP Brandon Villafuerte became the 49th player used by the Padres this season when he pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday. Diamondbacks - 1B Mark Grace is 10-for-30 (.333) with two homers and five RBIs this season against the Padres. ... Arizona is 18-13 against left-handed starting pitchers this season.

ROAD/HOME RECORDS: Padres - 15-32 on the road. Diamondbacks - 31-18 at home.

this can work 2 ways now its the 2nd time sd has seen pitcher but what i think is even bigger dbacks if gaints lose can put more space between them and dodgers and gaints and that out weighs the 2 time around seeing a pitcher dbacks are not going to take day off if gaints go down and dodgers having day off. that will be a given. if gaints lose before dbacks start or are losing and its late would have to go with dbacks because its a very big game when you can put distence between the 2 teams behind you in 1 day late in the year.
