Bought a similar one at Costco two summers ago. Can't beat the prices for these things from either Sam's or Costco.

Good luck with putting it together. It took us two full 8 hour days.

I figured this was gonna cost me a weekend as well as about a grand.

My neighbor paid one of the guys that works at Sam's $150 to put it together. The guy from Sam's brought a friend, and they both seemed handy putting crap together like that. It still took the tow of them about 8 hours (that's with two power drills going).

I would say that is the best $150 spent ever!

We have a similar setup in the backyard. It has been very durable to play and to the elements. I would suggest putting 2 coats of sealant on it when you get the wood, let it dry, then assemble. It didn't take us but about 5 hours to put it together, and I'm not handy (although my help was). We got the "kit" and lumber at Lowe's and it was only 350 bucks. I would try Lowe's or Home Depot.

6-5 -- A man that can knock down a turkey has to be handy on some level.

They also put this together while it was pouring rain, but I don't suspect that changed the timeline too much. Just was a little dark the last hour or so.

definitely pay to have it installed

ditto on this one....LOL would give the same advice for a trampoline and safety surround!!!

also some side advice penguin... don't know how many kids you have or their ages, or if you plan to keep on having more, but those i know (self included) have found swingsets to be a HUGE waste of money. they outgrow wanting to play on them in no time, and then you're stuck figuring out how to get rid of it. have your kids shown any interest in trampolines? (and do NOT get one without getting the safety net) that was by far the best investment i have ever made towards kids/teens/adults *toys*. they play on it constantly, and it is under $400 these days. (you will have neighbors from miles around wanting to hang out at your place tho.... :D )

Good advice Mama, they used the life out of the metal one and my boy is definatly a climber so this was just the natural progression. I really didn't want to drop a grand on one of these things to be honest so I may look into the alternative you suggested, thanks.
