Canadian waters(summertime)
I know how you helped some of guys post their pictures from the MadJack Superbowl Party. I have some pics from the Canadian fishing trip I was trying to organize this summer for the members. I'd like to start a thread and post them, maybe generate some interest for a future get together.

There have been threads with all the instructions on the "how to" but my novice computer brain just can't comprehend. Not a clue to "copy" or "cut & paste" or any of the other things they probably teach in kindergarten. My wife has to turn on the power switch for me :mj07: Host sites, upload.... HELPPPPP !!!

Thought maybe I could e-mail them to you (I had the negatives put on a disc and have them stored in my computer)........I finally learned how to do that, as I've sent them to a few friends.....and maybe you could post them in the thread when it's up. I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Maybe someday you can "walk" this "youngster" through it. Thanks :)

Try this:

Go to this site: www.ls1uploads.com

Once there, under the "files to upload", choose "BROWSE". A box will come up. Select the folder on your computer where the pictures are. Then select a specific picture, hit OK, and upload it. You can do this for all of your pictures, but will have to hit "BROWSE" and upload each one individually.

If you get that far, basically each of your pictures have their own "website". For example, say you upload a picture that you have named "bigfish". To see it, go to

http://www.ls1uploads.com/uploads/bigfish.jpg.

Once you do that, come to Madjacks and start a new thread. Once you are in the box to type text, click on the icon with the mountain and yellow sky on the tool bar near the smilies. In the box that comes up, type the web address for each picture. Once you submit, the pictures will show on MJs.

Let me know if this makes sense or you need clarification.

Thanks Saint........I think I'm getting close. I tried to post one by editing in my old thread (maybe it just doesn't work through the edit???) before I made a fool of myself, but no luck. I think I was fooling around with this site (after seeing your link in another thread) the other day and when I clicked the browse it showed the pictures I have stored. Question.......All the pictures have numbers under them and when I click the picture this long number shows up as the file name. Do I use this for the name.......or do I type a name in first and then click the picture? Also, is "open" the same as "OK"? I think I'm getting there but still apprehensive. My biggest fear is if and when I do get it that all the pictures sent to me by e-mail in my file will be shown (there are some pretty embarrassing ones in there).

Again, thanks for the help and I'll keep going til I get it :banghead:

trollin-

Where are you at in Canada? I just got back from a week long trip to Eagle Lake in Ontario. BIrch Bay Lodge is the name of place. Great place, even better people, and our party limited out on both the Walleye and Northern Pike.

Greattime and will be back again around same time next year!

We go up to Lake Minnitaki (about 150 miles norteast of International Falls) near Sioux Lookout, Ontario. It's a walleye factory!! Been going there for over 20 years. They have fly outs to 8 different places from the base camp, but the fishing is so great on the main lake that I've never found a reason to venture out. You can get your 30+ inch walleyes at the smaller remote lakes but I've caught many 27-28 inchers right near my cabin :mj14:

I spend 95% of my fishing hours "trolln" for the eyes. My son loves casting for the northerns and every time I'm up there someone at the camp catches a 43-45 incher. Biggest we've ever caught there was 38". Also get some nice smallmouth every trip. I know Eagle Lake has an abundance of trophy northern and Musky and a fine reputation for walleyes as well. Isn't it great!! :)

Sounds like you are doing well. Okay...I see that your pictures have a string of numbers for a filename, that's normal for digital picks. You have two options:

When you go to that site to upload it just use the filename that each picture has (the string of numbers).

You can also change the names of the pictures on your computer before trying to upload. Go to the folder where they are. Right click your mouse on a single picture, choose "rename", and name it what you want. Then when you go to that website to upload it you know which picture you will be uploading.

"Open" is the same as ok. You are right.

let me know how it's going.

to post pic here I put pic in "share" folder , sent link to my email to get address, then from that address I right-clicked "properties" on this particular foto to get exact address of this picture.

Thanks, but how did you do that??????

Any pointers from another professional computer Wiz? I haven't been around the pc that long. I'm sure once I get the hang of it I'll be fine. I've been perfecting my "nole dance" :spotting:for the big day my first picture post comes through :mj07:

oops, sorry Trollin'...been tied up for a while, and my kids just told me this thread was here :(

as was mentioned, i like to use www.shutterfly.com for multiple uploads that can be displayed at a forum in the form of a photo album....

here's a tip for you tho, to learn how any post was made.... just click on the link below the post (as if you want to *QUOTE* the person), and it will display exactly what they typed. :D

oh, and is that hat you're wearing by any chance from Big Daddy? or is that what a Calgary Flame hat looks like??

Thanks for the reply mama. I'm gonna give it another shot from that "tip" on using the "quote" number. I thought I already tried that one once but I'll give it another try. I think i left the .(dot) out of mine before the JPG.

And YESSSS !! That is a cap from Big Daddy's bar. I'm a Bear fan, wear it proudly, and have had many compliments on it. (Please don't change the name of the bar, Big Daddy) When I tell all my buddies about the place having the Bear flavor in the middle of Packer Land they toast him :mj14:

trollin, you had your picture correct except for 1 thing. You were missing a . (period) before the jpg on the end. I just added a . and it worked fine. Next, you'll have to learn about picture resizing, lol!
