CAN YOU HAVE A WOODSHED GAME IN ROUNDBALL? MAY BE I AM JUST HAVING FLASHBACKS/WITHDRAWALS FROM THE LACK OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

BALL STATE HAS HUNG IT UP FOR THE YEAR, JUST LOOKING FOR THE END OF ANOTHER POOR SEASON. BALL ST SENIORS HAD THEIR LAST HURRAH AT HOME LAST WEEK AGAINST THE NIU HUSKIES, POWERHOUSE CELLAR DWELLARS OF THE MAC.

WESTERN MICHIGAN COMING OFF A LOSS TO CENTRAL MICHIGAN WHERE THEY WERE HEAVY FAVORITES. I SHOULD KNOW I LOST A CHUNK PLAYING THE ML ON THEM. WESTERN MICHIGAN ALREADY WON THIS MATCHUP 71-45, NOT JUST TRASH POINTS EITHER, THEY DOMINATED THE ENTIRE GAME; LOOK FOR A SIMILIAR RESULT HERE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS SITUATION.:0corn

WESTERN MICHIGAN -13 1/2

when dos the MAC tournament start? Does this game mean anything? I mean win or lose the only thing that counts is the tournament right? do you think they care about this game?

MAC Tournament begins on Wednesday. Ball State is 6-22. Western Michigan will either be the #2 or #3 seed (#2 with a win). WMU will almost definitely have to win the tournament to get an NCAA bid since they are 18-11. Good shot at NIT, though.

I like WMU to win big on Senior Day against BSU.

Western is locked in as the 2nd seed even though Akron, Kent and Western could all end up with 12-4 league records.

Top 3 seeds regardless of what happens today
1 Kent
2 Western
3 Akron

Kalamazoo Gazette analysis

Probable starters
For WMU: Juniors Michael Redell (6-foot-1, 4.9 points per game) and Shawntes Gary (6-2, 8.6), and sophomore David Kool (6-3, 16.0) at guard; senior Andrew Hershberger (6-7, 3.8) at forward; and senior Joe Reitz (6-7, 15.0) at center.
For Ball State: Senior Peyton Stovall (6-1, 13.8) and freshman Melvin Goins (5-9, 8.2) at guard; freshman Rashaun McLemore (6-4, 6.4) and junior Anthony Newell (6-5, 16.8) at forward; and freshman Malik Perry (6-4, 6.7) at center.

The matchup
Almost two months ago, this was the game that turned WMU's season around. Below 500 at 7-8 (1-1 in MAC play), the Broncos went into Muncie and destroyed the Cardinals, 71-45, offering a defensive clinic on their best two players, Newell and Stovall. Since then, Goins has become more of a threat, but not enough to change the outcome. Hershberger's matchup with Newell and Gary's date with Stovall are the ones to watch defensively. Offensively, it's Reitz on Perry. WMU's all-league center scored at will against Perry in Muncie and Ball State doesn't have a better option.
