Harbaugh didn't think timeout before Cundiff miss was necessary

Team had one more timeout before fateful miss
By Edward Lee 6:00 a.m. EST, January 23, 2012

Seconds before Billy Cundiff?s 32-yard field goal that strayed wide left in the Ravens? eventual 23-20 win to the New England Patriots in Sunday?s AFC championship game, it appeared that the kicker was sprinting onto the field to line up for the field goal.

With the play clock winding down, it appeared that Cundiff might have benefited from a timeout. But coach John Harbaugh said he didn?t think about calling the team?s final timeout to slow things down for Cundiff and the field-goal unit.

?Yeah, that never occurred to me,? Harbaugh said. ?I didn?t think that. You know, looking back at it now, maybe there was something we could have done. But in the situation, it didn?t seem like we were that rushed on the field. thought we were in pretty good shape.?
Get the Baltimore Football app for iPhone and Android

What game did you watch?

Flacco outplayed Brady big time.

Lewis had 12 tackles.

Great analysis.

This has to be a twilight zone episode. Just say no to drugs. Bigdaddy when you watch a game make sure its live and not one you recorded from the past.

Three things that stood out in this game #1 Balt is never winning a SB with joe flacco QBING #2 Ray lewis has stayed at the dance 2 long christ did he look awful today(I think one of the greatest LBERS of ALL-TIME)#3 Tom Brady looked very average todaY and i believe NYG will be able to get pressure with just rushing 4 down lineman.

these are some of the dumbest things I've seen, and I'm a New England. The only thing you are right on is Brady played poorly. Joe F played pretty damn well, I believe he completed 24 of 36 for 300+ yards. Granted a couple long balls were not thrown well, but those are low percentage throws for any quarterback.
Baltimore played the better game, and if not for Vince Wilfork, New England loses that game. He repeatedly beat the Baltimore center, and bailed New England out numerous times.
Lewis had double-digit tackles. And Baltimore I'm convinced it's the best tackling team in the NFL. Every time Brady completed a pass, the receiver was immediately brought to the ground. Very little yards after catch.
One thing that did surprise me as it took Cameron over three quarters to figure out he had a great receiver in Boldin on a converted quarterback (Endelman). That should have been exploited much earlier. I also saw Ray Rice split out a couple times on third downs covered by Mayo one-on-one, if flacco had gotten rice the ball in those situations, he would still be running.
Tough game for Baltimore to lose.

Isn't that the reason you keep a time out at the end of the game, to give you time to get the field goal team on?

Flacco played great, and was the victim of huge drops by Dickson and Evans.

You really have no idea what you are talking about.

Torrey was overthrown on the one play because he stopped running the route, but I guess you think thats Flaccos fault.

And the underthrown ball was let go right when he was getting hit which caused the ball to be short.

And how you can call the guy with the most tackles in the game slow.

Why are you yelling all the time?

Is it to make up for the fact you have no idea about what you are talking about?

Answer me one question who had the better game sunday Brady or Flacco.

And you are right numbers do not mean everything, Flacco should have had better numbers and be playing in the super bowl if not for a couple of key drops.

I'm a patriots fan, and Joe Flacco overachieved Sunday, no doubt he played better than Brady had better numbers, with less weapons. But New England's defense is a far cry from Baltimore's. New England secondary also made every quarterback this season have career numbers, including Buffalo, Washington, Indianapolis, Miami, Oakland on and on. a decent College Quarterback Would have a good day against that New England secondary. For Christ sake they have a college quarterback, converted wide receiver, converted defensive back starting, And He's White!:scared
