You are correct and I apologize for lumping all LSU fans in that one Cajuns comment. It was as you stated and nothing more. I got caught up in the "flaming" that normally happens in chat rooms.
I'm a true through and through Alabama fan, but I don't drink the Kool-aid like a lot of the rednecks down there do. I'm a realist and while I was expecting to get a few more wins last year, didn't expect us to win the SEC in year one of Saban. To be honest, I'm thrilled he's our coach, but I'm not a big Saban fan. Obviously I want him to be successful, but he does not come across as personable or accessible like former coaches. He has total control of the program and he knows that he has the fans and the University in the palms of his hand.
I just don't understand why THE MAJORITY of LSU fans have it in for Saban. It's not like he went from one SEC school to another immediately ala Tubbs from Ole Miss to Awbarn. He won a BCS title and wanted a chance to coach in the NFL. Realized, like several other successful college coaches, that it wasn't what he thought it was and was able to get back in the college game.
Regarding my moron statement about Miles, I realize the guys a good coach, but in my opinion he's not a great coach. Several decisions he made last year were very questionable and fortunately for him they all worked out. When you are the #1 team in the nation, how do you lose at home to an inferior Arkansas team when you've got an SEC and possible National Championship game in your future?
Anyway, I could go on about both coaches and programs forever. Cie, I respect your thoughts on college football and didn't mean to lump you in with dvlsu. Now the Barners on the other hand.... :mj07:

I guess Saban made the wrong move when he decided to go on the field against La Monroe High school? I never said I dislike Saban. I said he isnt a good coach but a good recruiter. He had lots of talent at LSU only reason he won what he did! He also had the same kind of talent in 2004(year after 2003 championship) and look at his record! Look at Les's record with same talent. Not even close!! Bammers dont want to realize that fact!! Look at Saban's win percentage before LSU(AND ALL THAT TALENT) UGLY!! SO see the real facts not just what you want to see! As far as nerd well you might think you know football but ummm well thats another story!!
Do yourself a favor Dunclock and stop responding there are some people in here that bring nothing to the table but the ability to come in here and tell you that you don't know anything or that your team sucks. Just move on and ignore it.

The obsession of many LSU fans with Saban is disturbing and hard for me to explain. I might even be able to understand if Saban had left LSU for Bama, but with that not being the case I remain baffled.

correct we went 8-2 that year and actully miss. state of all teams was sec champ but the ap still gave us the title.... even if 1941 can be disputed my point is that bama still has far more national,conference,bowl victories and series record wins on lswho and everybody else and that can't be disputed... Bottom line our coach made yall relivent.....

dunclock, the season can't get here fast enough. I'll be at the georgia dome early to start the tail gating. I sure wish Julio didn't have all the hype on him this early though. I do think by the end of his time at bama he will be great, but he hasn't played on game yet. That being said, he earned the #1 recieving job quickly as well as a spot as returner on SP teams with Javier Arenas (not to bad himself). I've been fortunate enough to see a practice and a big surprise to me is Our freshman LB Hightower and NG Terrance Cody. I think they make a huge impact this year as well.
Don't pay attention to the sabin haters, he will hae them ready to play and we are getting the players we need and will be back in the NC hunt and national spotlight before to long.
Although I'm a homer I like them getting 5 points. I don't get a chance to get on here much, but I'm going to try to do so more this year. I'll hae a short writeup later on my opinion on the game. RTR!!
