'Bama/Florida State

Florida State is essentially a coiled rattlesnake that can?t see straight. This is an infinitely dangerous team, but one that can?t seem to pull the trigger and hit anything other than its own foot. Alabama is more than capable of winning this game ? and some would argue doing such would not constitute an upset ? but by all rights, Florida State will be the betting favorite and that?s a good call on the oddsmakers? part.

For Alabama to win this game, the Crimson Tide must find a way to pressure QB Drew Weatherford. It?s really that simple. Weatherford makes mistakes when harried, but when left alone, he can hurt anyone. Unfortunately for Alabama, pressuring the quarterback has been a problem. The Crimson Tide is dead last in the SEC in sacks per game and ranks 103rd in that category nationally. Alabama was unable to take advantage of Georgia?s green offensive line last week.

There won?t likely be many points scored in this one. Florida State is still unconfident on offense, but Alabama?s offense may not be able to properly penetrate the Seminole defense. What happens this week with Geno Hayes is crucial. If Hayes is out for this game, it literally could make a 7- or even a 10-point difference in favor of the Tide.

Alabama can pull this upset. Will it? Not if Alabama repeats its Georgia performance. Alabama simply must get better from last week to this week or the result will be the same.

Thanks Cie.... I'm a homer no doubt about it, but I don't drink the Crimson Kool-aid many Tide Fans do. Looks like 'Bama could be going down to the wire for the 3rd week in a row. I don't know if my heart can take it!

I realize that these are 18-21 year old kids (unless they are playing for BYU), but after the last 2 weeks, the Alabama players have got to be a little fatigued. I agree with everything posted herein above, but my money is on the short chalk this week. Seminoles win this one by 7-10 points. Just my 2 cents. :shrug:

Alabama has a group of young players that want to win and they can and will. Love the ML not just because I am a BAMA fan but because Bowden is from B'ham so he will have his players fired up. Weatherord has no chance of a good game because that D is good and Mustin the Linebacker for the tide will be back this week.

The school's disciplinary policy prohibits students from participating in athletics while under a felony charge.

The policy, though, permits Hayes to play because the charges against him are misdemeanors. That gave Bowden authority to discipline Hayes, after review by athletic director Dave Hart.

Police said they used a Taser to subdue Hayes early Friday outside a bar near the Florida State campus. Officers said Hayes became aggressive when they confronted him after he had been screaming profanities.

Figures that he will be playing though. :nono:

I don't understand the JPW overrated comment. Haven't seen too many comments nationally about him so don't know how he is overrated.

Bama has played 2 tough physical games in a row and now they play on the road against an FSU team that has had 2 weeks to get ready. Something to consider when capping this match-up!!!:yup My guess:
