Question for anyone who follows Bama in football or any sports! Why don't people show up to basketball games at home? I know it's a weeknight game, but there can't be that much shit going on in Tuscaloosa that there are more empty seats in the arena than filled seats. Is this common place? I don't remember the arena being that barren when Wimp Sanderson coached there!

Any feedback will be appreciated!!

I know Grant ain't a big time coach, but common man, put some butts in the seats for a TV game!!

Bill,
I live about 45 min from Tuscaloosa and I'll tell you, college basketball hasnt drawn much attention the past 10-12 years. College football is everything in this state, especially since we don't have any Pro teams. Most "loyal" Bama followers couldnt name you two players on Bama's basketball team. Media ONLY focuses on our football teams, so most people (except us degens) don't even know what nights the basketball games are being played. I would love to see our basketball team get more attention, but until college football is over, it just won't.

Thanks for the insight Brad. I totally understand what you stated. Same thing happens at Nebraska and they have a new arena to play in this year, they basically give tickets away hoping to sell concessions.

I remember many Bama hoop games and followed some pretty decent plays, Dunn who played for the Trail Blazer, Antonio McDyess, and in the early 80's they had the best Afro assembly of players, Afro meaning the big hair, LOL. They were pretty wild to watch and they competed pretty well, I'm thinking they had a center named Douglas that did ok for them and played in the NBA a lil bit. But yeah, in last 10-12 years I couldn't name you any players to be honest, but I do like Grant as a HBC!

Thanks again!
