Game One.....

Well, three factors go into my play tonight. One.....the weather. It's chilly, and breezy. I think this only gives pitching that much more of an advantage. With a stud like Carpenter going (Sore elbow or not)....I give the advantage to the pitching. Secondly, game one will be a feel out process for both teams. I know that they both hit well....but since these two teams don't see each other during the regular season because they are in opposite leagues.....again, advantage, pitching. Finally, nerves. Both of these teams will have nerves. Texas will have the nerves from pressure to perform....having made it to the World Series 2 years running. A good performance is expected from them. And the Cards should just be happy to be there. LaRussa won't have them playing that way, of course. But I still think that the Cards will also come out a bit tight. All these things make me believe that game one goes under. So that's my play tonight.....

World Series Game 1:
Rangers-Cardinals under 7.5

Sweet, GL, also no DH for TX. Like it

Make that my 4th factor for the under.....

I really see this as a solid play tonight. I know it's very easy to get wrapped up in it being game one of the World Series and wanting to see lots of scoring. But tonight just doesnt set up for that at all. Really see the under coming home tonight.

For me, it simply comes down to managers. I'll take LaRussa any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I think the Cardinals win in 6 games.

Interesting lines. Don't guess I've ever seen inning betting b4, but I rarely look at baseball.

Thanks for betting on the Redbirds Bart. I will in turn take your Heels getting 10 and the hook on Sat.

BTW, you coming in tonight or tomorrow? Gary and I are playing in the morning:00hour

World Series Game 2:
This is how I see it....

The pressure is squarely on Texas now. Tonight's pitching matchup is a wash. Both pitchers have a Dr Jeykll/Mr Hyde performance ability. One night they are on, the other night, they are off. I had Colby Lewis and Jaime Garcia in my fantasy lineup all year long, so I feel comfortable that I know what's going on with these two guys. Tonight, one or both of these two will give up some runs. The weather should be similar to last night's game, minus the misty rain. Temps will be on the chilly side. In general, I believe that'll make the players a bit more comfortable out there....since they played in that colder air last night. With the o/u set at 8 right now, I see the over as my top play.

Also, I know many people may think that Texas is due for a "bounce back" type of game. I'm not sold on that. In fact, I think that the Cardinals are only going to grow in confidence tonight (especially the Cards bullpen). Meanwhile, Colby Lewis is gonna feel the squeeze of a little pressure. You cannot fall behind 2-0 in the World Series. I thnk that'll make for a rocky start from him.

My plays are....

Rangers-Cardinals over 8 (top play)
&
Cardinals +110

It amazes me that the Cards just keep getting written off. There is some pretty good chemistry going there now.

That and LaRussa makes Ron Washington look like Lou Brown from "Major League"

Well, hell guys. Last night played out as badly as it possibly could. Colby really surprised me. I wish the Cards were a bit more patient at the plate.

Let's nail game 3.
