yanks dray game.

first and for most a pitcher has to be in fielding position after release to plate, and to do this you lead foot has to land pointing towards home plate and follow through leg swings around to square you up.

well kennedy is blocking hisself off, what this means is his lead foot is landing closed pointing towards first base line, this causes him to cross fire and that is a major no no,a cross fire is throwing across your body. when you do this if you are a breaking ball pitcher you will be high with just a row and your arm slot will never be in the same angle, thus you will be all over the place and high. also this puts a strain on elbow and even more on your hip flexor. this kid is one of the worse cross firing pitches i have seen.

so after all that when you land you are locked up on your front hip and can not move to field he has had 3 balls hit at him a foot either side on 2 and 1 right under the star fish, none of them were over hs speed helen keller would of had a shot if the ball was beeping, but not kennedy because he can't move if you pushed him as he lands he would fall over. can't belive pitching coach has not broke that.

watch him is a good go against cause will either walk batters or give up hits do to ball being high.

maybe more later on a nother game if i see something that is worth looking at for handicapping info.

also check his pitch count and ball to strike ratio and also walks to k's should be at least 3-1 k's to bb's and pitches should be 2.5/1 strikes to balls at worse and he is not around that and that is a low end. this means he is always pitching behind and bad things happen when you pitch behind all day.

not looking for back pats i have fletcher and mago who give me lots of love, but want input to if you think you can learn from this info and will use it,it does take some time for a great typest as myself,if you feel it won't help it won't hurt my feelings just don't want to waste time, because in a few weeks when some stats get built up you will or i will be able to do match ups, write now its tuff.

here is a trend in baseball that you have to look at,yes the cubs arenot hitting at all,a 20 crack whorehas more hits then they do the last 2 days But since lieber left the great city:D a few years ago he is 9-0 against buc's can't over look that the down side you have a cubs team that is hitting alittle over a buck and ahalf but hitting will pick up and the last 2 games were cold as hell and it will be inflated but the buc's willnot win 2 out of 3 against mets and cubs on the road to start if they do i will put that stupid buco avitar up all season.

good luck might want to take a look at the a's tonight;) damn thats more dogs this week then the last 2 years, just joking but close,i gave nick d the jays against om on monday and yes before game ask him:thefinger

Seeing that there are over 600 views on this thread, I believe that there is great value in reading your analysis(especially, originating from a coach's viewpoint). Just adds another adjunct in handicapping these games along with statistical and situational plays.

fletch,

i just read this and kind of disagree....... don't want to get into a pissing contest because i repsect your views. but i must say that it's my opinion that you *can* land closed off but at some point you need to get open. but i think that landing closed off helps guys stay back over the rubber a little more with their weight and have a better hip explosion.... if you dont get open, you're SOL and I know that's what you were saying.... but landing closed off, in and of itself doesn't bother me much...... opinions are like a-holes and this is just another one..... i like guys who throw that 2 seam or sinker and land a little closed off and really get some movement on it. maddux doesn't do it , but you'll see some other guys stay closed really late and have a final explosion. pitchers just need to understand what they're doing and why... be conscious of their body -- kinesthetic awareness.

plus LHPs get away with that crap a lot more for whatever reason. but agree with you, if he's not effective, its a good thing to look at.

never a pissing match with you.if you get a chance to watch him, check him out he is really closed, your right about the lefties getting away with it more, but hey they are screwed uo anyway:D

looks like rotation will be all screwed up on wen and thur, i think they are doing great since they had to break rotation twice, young guys are steping up. why does mg look so tense at 2nd? hell he can play no need to press.

damn spoonies breaking pitch has some tight bite more then when i use to see him,he is going to do ok,you guys have done a great job with him. how's the book coming? probley not a lot of time to work on it now. someone told me fredreick.cc has a gunner at 93-93 you have that aera and have you seen him,i don't belive it.

good luck and stay out of strip bars:D
