New Month - Same Profits!!
Happy Labor Day!! :smilies1

YTD: +131.67u

Put these up overnight.........

Detroit +100
I'm gonna give 86-year-old Charlie Morton another chance after taking a loss with him his last time out. Anytime you can get get a team like the Tigers (and their 80-58 record) at home at an underdog price, you have to consider it. Morton had definately had an up and down season but, looking deeper, he is a nice 5-2 during the day this season and in his last start vs the Mets (this year), he gave up 1 ER on 4 hits in 6 IP. In addition, Detroit has won 6 of their last 7 at home! Meanwhile, the Mets come in only 28-37 on the road this year and start LHP Sean Manaea, who hasn't had an easy time of it lately. He is just 1-4 his last 5 with a big ERA of 7.12! I addition he is 0-2 this year on the road with an ERA of 5.29. Finally, the Tigers crush LHP to the tune of a .267 BA (15 pts higher than average) Play Detroit as a dog.......

Boston RL +135
-Boston comes into this game only 3.5 games back of Toronto in the AL East and they are very much a wild-card contender. Today, they start RHP Brayan Bello, who has a nice record on the season going 10-6 with an ERA under 3. He is 7-3 at home this year and his current form has been excellent going 4-1 with an ERA of 2.27 his last 5 starts. In addition, in his last 3 starts, he has given up only 3 ER's on just 12 hits in 20 IP for a 2-0 record and an ERA of 1.35! Cleveland, meanwhile, is just 33-34 on the road this season and start LHP Parker Messick who was dazzling in his first MLB start last week. But, that was only 1 start, at home, and things are going to be different behind a sold-out labor day crown at Fenway! Finally, Boston hits LHP very well to the tune of .258 on the season. Play Boston on the run line..........

LA Angels/Houston Under 8'
- I'm basing this play about 90% on current offensive form for BOTH clubs. In the last 11 games, the Angels have scored a total of 30 runs, an average of 2.73 runs per game! 8 of these 11 games have gone under the total. As far as the Astros, in their last 7 games, they have scored 14 runs for an average of only 2 runs per game (with all 7 of these games going under the total) The Angels start LHP Yusei Kikuchi who has an ERA of 3.68 this season. During the day, his ERA drops to 3.35. Meanwhile, the Angels are starting RHP Luis Garcia, who is making his first Major League appearance since May 1 2023! Both of these teams are offensively challenged with the Angels hitting just .229 this season (.223 during the day) and Houston hitting just .241 during the day.....Play LA/Houston Under the total of 8'

A's/St. Louis Under 8
-One of the nice stories of late is the pitching of A's pitcher Luis Morales who is 2-0 in 4 starts with an ERA of 1.19 and an ERA on the road of 1.04. So far this year, he has allowed 3 ER's and just 12 hits in 22 2/3 IP and has never faced the Cards. Meanwhile, St. Louis starts RHP Sonny Gray who (despite getting long in the tooth) has always pitched well at home. This year, he is 8-4 with a 3.17 ERA at home and last year he got his 100th career win vs the A's, pitching 6 shutout innings. This is a low number, but I just don't see where the runs are going to come from as long as Morales is the real deal. Play A's/St Louis Under 8

Chicago Cubs -122 (2x)
-The Cubs come home today after a 9-game road trip where they are 41-25 and very much in the wild card hunt in the National League. Today, they start RHP Colin Rae who is having a pretty nice season standing in at 10-6 with an ERA of 4.23. He is equally as good at Wrigley going 5-2 with an ERA of 4.03. In addition, he faced the Braves twice last year going 2-0, giving up just 2 ER's on 8 hits in 12 1/3 IP with 15 K's! Meanwhile, The Braves (after a brief resurgence) are back in the tank losing 3 of 4 and scoring only 10 runs during this span. In addition, the Braves stand at 29-42 on the road this year for a money-burning -$2718! Today, Atlanta starts RHP Spencer Strider who has been awful this year going just 5-12 overall with an ERA of 4.95. He is just 2-6 on the road and is in terrible current form going 0-4 in his last 4 starts with an ERA of 10.13! Play the Cubs in this contest!
