-I never thought I would be saying this, but the Braves are red-hot winning 8-straight including sweeps over the Nats and the Tigers. During this streak, the Braves bats have been on fire scoring 61 runs in 8 games for an avg of 7.63 runs per game! Tonight they start LHP Chris Sale who has a 2.35 overall ERA and a stunning 151 k's in 115 innings pitched. In addition, he has a 2.39 ERA at home this season and in his last 4 starts, he has an ERA of 1.75 with 36 k's in 25 2/3 IP and an opponents BA of just .187. Furthermore, the Nats hit just .226 vs left-handed pitching (23 pts less than average!) Meanwhile, the Nats have lost 4 of 6 and are just 2-8 SU in their last 10 head-to- head with Atlanta! Tonight, they Start LHP McKenzie Gore who is 5-14 with a 4.00 ERA overall this season and a record of 2-7 with a 4.73 at night! Play Atlanta on the run line

-See above write-up for my take on the Atlanta/Washington game. As far as the other game, The Giants return home from a 7-game road trip where they are 9-3 their last 12! tonight, they start RHP Justin Verlander, who after a rough start, has been light outs out as of late. In his last 5 starts, he is 3-0 with an ERA of just 0.87! In his only start this season vs the Cards, he shut them out 3 hits in 6 innings of work. in Verlander's last start, he shut out the D-backs on 3 hits in 7 IP! Meanwhile, the Cards are just 1-6 L7 on the road and start RHP Michael McGreevy, who despite having a nice season, is just 1-2 his last 5 starts, giving up 12 ER's and 36 base runners in 29 IP for an ERA of 3.72! Finally, in his only start this season vs the Giants, he took the loss giving up 6 ER's in 4 IP for an ERA of 3.50!

-The padres return home after a 6-game road trip where they are 47-28 on the year. San Diego is 8-2 L10 vs the Brewers in head-to-head matchups. Tonight, they start their ace RHP Nick Pivetta who is 13-5 with an ERA of 2.81 ERA overall. But, at home is where he really shines, going 8-1 this season with a 2.02 ERA and a OBA of .170. Meanwhile, the Brewers start RHP Freddy Peralta who is 17-6 on the year, but only 8-5 with a 3.71 ERA on the road. In addition, Peralta rarely goes more than 95 pitches and goes deep into counts, especially with patient clubs (like the padres) and usually goes only 5 IP (sometimes 6) going more than 6 IP in only 1 start this year (back in April) if it comes down to the bullpens, the padres have the best bullpen in baseball! The padres are favored in this one for a reason and I recommend a play on San Diego!

Also, on the San Diego play, the Brewers clinched their division last night at the Cardinals even tho they lost the game. They threw one of those champagne celebrations, spray everywhere, goggles, players whooping it up, saying things like "the real games begin in two weeks". Then the flight from St Louis and more celebrating. We know that anything can happen in baseball, but this is one reason they may not be taking this game too seriously and may be resting some players during the game. So one more reason to like San Diego.

How can I watch games on TV and see pitchers do not have it and managers stick with them, sale was struggling entire game only thing that saved him was Washington pitching was so bad, Verlander struggled from 2nd inning on and was never sharh

What about Verlander he is a fade every time he pitches late in season
Actually bulldog if you read my writeup you would have noticed this about Verlander: In his last 5 starts, he is 3-0 with an ERA of just 0.87! In his only start this season vs the Cards, he shut them out 3 hits in 6 innings of work. in Verlander's last start, he shut out the D-backs on 3 hits in 7 IP............This is what I based the play on, it just didn't work out tonight, He wasn't sharp. Based on those stats, I'd make the same bet again every time.
