-The surging Phillies are now 1 game under .500 in the NL East after last night's come-from-behind win over the Pirates. Reaching .500 is a monumental achievement considering how they started. They are now 7-3 their last 10 and 13-4 their last 17. Today, they start their ace, LHP Cristopher Sanchez who is 4-2 overall on the season with a 2.11 ERA. Sanchez sports a career ERA of just 1.75 against the Pirates and Pitt hits just .242 against lefties (14 pts below their norm) Meanwhile, the Pirates start RHP Bubba Chandler who is just 1-4 on the season with a 4.62 ERA through 8 starts. I realize that the Cubs have the best record in baseball, but they are an entirely different animal on the road going just 11-11 on the year.
