Have been busy putting all my notes together for the up coming season. Many have already been done since the summer.have been busy updating everything which is almost as big a job.
We all have our own systems and mine is no better then anyones elses.I'll emphasize things like coaches, types of defenses, rebounding,FT shooting, depth and many others that everyone uses.My angle is no better then anyone elses because if it was I would be on a beach chair in the Grand Caymans scimming a beer cap out to sea and letting the cell phone just ring and ring.
There are certian teams that do better and if you follow them you can reap some benifits.
We all love watching the Arizona's,UConn,Dukes,Florida Indiana's,and Kansas. We all at some point played them. But we sometimes get caught playing the big names esp as favorites..
But maybe the Air Force,Fordham,Smoo, and my favorite Rutgers are better plays.
Lets take Duke as an example.
Duke was 27-7 with a home record of 15-0.That Coach K is the best.Great bench coach, great recruiter, etc. But he is loved by the "man".In Vegas he was "the man of the Year".His against the spread record was 10-20.The 15-0 home record was 4-10 ats.Arizona and Lute.Thats my coach.Overall 28-4 and 14-1 at home."You ain't coming in my house and winning" But Zona was only 6-9 ats at home.UConn was 14-2 at home but was just 5-6 ats.I know I lost at least 3 or 4 of those.
I could go on and on.Creighton was 17-0 at home and was 5-9 ats.Cal was 13-1 at home and 5-6 ats.Butler,SIU, and many more all 12-0's or 13-0's with losing records at home.
Now take the flip side of this.
Fordham who everyone beat the hell out of.They were 2-26 overall, coach got fired[thank god] but were 13-13 ats.Fordham couldn't win a road vs St Mary's of the Visual Impaired. They went 1-13.[they did beat Mary...William and Mary] But was 8-5 on the road ats.Air force with there "motion back door" was 2-12 on the road yet kept games close because of their style and went 7-5 away.
Sometimes you marry teams.Lyr I married Cent Mich.I happened to see them play Marist and fell in love with 7'0 Kaman. They were 25-7 overall and 23-6 ats .Away or home they won and covered.rutgers, florida St,Nc St,Wisky,Smoo, and others.
Of course each yr changes and if you look at some of the above schools I mentioned the pattern isn't always the same.
The Kentuckys,Tenn,BC's Marylands cover a lot.but selected covers.Kentucky at home was 12-1 yet only 5-6 at home.but kentucky on the road was 9-2.Memphis,URI,Smoo,SWMizzou[9-1]St joes,Tenn are solid road warriors.
Now take the other flip side of go against teams. Another one of my favorites ,my alma mater North Texas. They were 3-8 at home and 1-8 ats.Buffalo was 0-15 at on the road and was 3-11 ats.
I hit on at least 8 of those last yr plus 6-1 in football this yr.I might find my beach chair a lot sooner then I expected just on betting against the Bulls.
I'll continue this thread.I know a lot of you all know this so I'm not trying to sound smart or anything. Please add to this thread.if it just makes someone think about the Dukes and Zona's and maybe the Fordhams and rutgers.
We all get caught up with the big names.I have lost mucho with them and so have a lot of you.
The season is about to start...and I got the "basketball jones"..
