If the team weren't wearing NBA uniforms and using a roundball, there is no way the game tonight could have been mistaken for a basketball game.

Wow! That was the most poorly played NBA game I think I have ever witnessed!

That was one of the best defensive performances of all time. They locked down the Pacers. You would just rather see offense. I prefer to watch a game like that, where both teams are playing incredibly hard and really going all out.

I'll concede that it was a hotly contested game, but those two teams are very poor offensively. Neither team can shoot a lick. How can you possibly have 20 shots blocked in one game! Great defense, OK, I'll buy that, but more a function of really poor offense.

Neither team has any chance against the winner from the west.

And I still say, that was not basketball. It was brick-ball. Except the brick bounces.

To say that neither of these teams has a chance against the West is utterly ridiculous. They are both extremely deep and will cause matchup problems for either the Lakers or the Wolves. It should be a great finals regardless of the matchup.

its an embarrassment to the game....blame lies at the feet of the refs....10 fouls or so on every possession......nothing resembling basketball but more like the WWF with flops and thugs beating on each other

I thought the game was truly ugly most of the 1st quarter with horrible play all around. But then it settled down into what I judged to be a beautiful struggle that was fun to see.

I agree it started ugly and settled into a good game. Problem, neither team knows how to run an offense. That portion of the game was painful to watch. You look at the shooting percentages of both teams and that should explain it all.

Refs still too inconsistent in the NBA for my liking. One minute they are calling touch fouls and the next minute a player is getting mugged and they let them play. I guess we can use this analogy in every sport :)

All in all, I have to agree the East will not have a chance in the finals. West Guns such as the Lakers or TWolves (which I feel the East matches up a little better against) would easily control the series against either the Pacers or Pistons. East is getting their, but a long way too go.

Guys, I love offensive games and usually hate defensive games because the defensive games are usually the lack of the refs calling fouls. I can't say that about what I saw last night. I saw more uncalled fouls on Shak in the first game than I saw real fouls by both teams put together last night The action was so fast and furious that I wouldn't have wanted to have to make the calls. The defense on both sides was all over the offense and for the most part were not fouling. They were calling some offensive fouls that usually are let go but I saw very few blown calls. The worst call I can remember was the double dribbling call that could have cost Det the game. The block by Prince was a thing of beauty and what they didn't show was the ball was blocked to Hamiliton who was then fouled and sank the shots turning the game totally around. There was a time near the end of the game that pretty well summed up how they were playing d. I forget who Rasheed was guarding but he drove and went up for a shot. Rasheed almost fell down backwards to keep from fouling and Ben went up and sent the ball into the upper deck. I saw that type of play on both sides. Instead of seeing only what you want to see, pay attention and use what you learn to get your money back in the next game. Good luck to us tonight.
