I was going to wait it out another week, but I am jumping in for one tonight after watching some games.

S. Alabama +10.5

As you are seeing right now a lot of these teams are simply not ready to play (Iowa State in particular looks awful) and the advantage definitely goes to the teams that have a game under their belt. I was impressed by South Alabama in their first game and Tulane has to replace some key players. Not sure why this line is so high and I would not be surprised to see South Alabama win outright.

Nice winner to start. I hate this weeks slate of games, but I am going to stick with the same theory as last week for this week's pick:

Georgia Tech +7.5

They pulled off the upset last week and did not look bad doing it. Florida State's offense still sucks (I do not ever remember a QB sucking as bad as Blackmon has for so many years) but their defense is very strong and Tech held their own. This is UCF's first game and we have not see many teams come out on offense and light it up. Game speed is simply not that same as practice so offenses tend to be behind, so I will gladly take the points in this game.

I was tempted to take Navy, especially at +7.5, but I think it is best to see how they play. I am a fan of Navy football but I am not a fan of their coach. Can not believe he was out there running his mouth about the Commanders Trophy when his team looked like a Division III squad out there last week. Not sure I have ever seen a team so ill-prepared for a football game. This did not go over well at all with the Navy fans and alumni. How happy is BYU that they did not hire Niumatalolo a few years back. Navy is the only Division I program this guy could coach at. I expect them to play much better this week and would not be surprised to see them win. BYU was a horrible match up for them as they completely dominated the line of scrimmage.

I am adding a small ml parlay for fun since I have some soccer money to play with after today:

Georgia Tech +225/La Tech +175

I think both teams have a solid chance to win so I will take a shot. They continue to throw Southern Miss out as favorites and they continue to lose outright. Not so sure their coach resigning after the first game is a good thing. I think Central Florida is getting too much credit and Georgia Tech will give them all they can handle. Ga Tech was simply better than Florida Sate last week. UCF has some opt outs that impact them defensively. I think this game is a toss up.

Ga Tech get overwhelmed last week. Should have just went with La Tech.

I put one in so far for this week:

Duke +7 -140 - I bought this up since I like them getting the 7 ( I never mind buying points to get to a number I like. I know it is not for everyone but I am primarily a soccer bettor and soccer bettors can not be afraid of a little juice!). Duke has 2 games under their belt while UVA has yet to play. That is about enough for me to play this game. Duke got beat bad last week because of turnovers. If they can avoid them this week they will be in this game and should have a chance to win it. UVA also has a new QB and a questionable offensive line which is the primary reason I like Duke in this game. Duke's defensive front should dominate this game.

Duke sucks! This is one thing I know. How can you have 14 turnovers in 3 games. Brice has been a train wreck. Va Tech should roll them this week, but I am posting the following:

Navy -.5
WKU -.5

I do not tease much in college but I really like these two teams to win so I am rolling with this as my only play this week. The Force has not played and has a significant number of player opting out for the year. Navy looked much better against Tulane and they are simply the better team given AF's player loss. I like WKU because, well Middle TN just sucks.

I have not seen a team less prepared to start games this season than Navy. Their coaching staff has done a horrendous job this year and it all starts with the top. Once they lose to Army by 20+, I hope they start looking for a new head coach. Their performance yesterday against an undermanned Air Force team was just pathetic. You couple that with his mouthing off etc., it is definitely time for a change.

Posted plays have not been so great this year, but I am already down on this one and playing it rather large for me in football:

Texas/Ok Ov 71.5 -114

Yeah, I know it is obvious but sometimes it can be easy. These are two of my least favorite teams in college. I had high hopes for Herman, but his overall performance has been less then desired. My guess his job is in trouble if he loses this game. Not sure how you can be this bad year in and year out on defense. Oklahoma is always the same. Loaded on offense, beats up on bad teams, but plays no defense and can not beat anyone really good. I expect these teams to light it up in this game and expect them both to score in the 40's.

Maybe someday one of these schools will figure out that you need to play defense and run the ball to win big games. Some teams in the NFL need to learn the same lesson as many of their teams are looking like college teams. I may be old school, but I know great defenses win championships and neither of these teams is even close.

Waiting on a better weather outlook on the Alabama game, but I will be on that Over unless the weather is really bad. Would not be surprised to see Bama put up 60 on them.

I just go to accuweather for where the game is being played. That is really the best way to keep track.

Man, this TX/OK game sucks. Both these teams are not very good. I think Herman is on his way out. He really has done nothing there in 4 years. I was dead wrong about him and may be wrong about this bet. Going to need some big plays in the second half. 5 turnovers and 2 short fgs in the first did not help.

Jesus, Texas sucks. Herman should be fired after this game.

Laying off Bama Over due to the rain.

Playing Clemson -8.5 FH. If that one loses I am done with college football.

Got lucky with the big play, but that is how it goes sometimes. Nice FH winner with Clemson. Made a mistake not playing the Bama over, but I did play it at halftime.

I already hit this game pretty hard:

Alabama -4

Maybe is drops, but I doubt it. Georgia's defense is very good, but I do not like their offense that much. Alabama has NFL offensive players and I think Georgia will have a tough time stopping them the whole game. I can guarantee Saban will be all over his defense this week and they will play better. Think Bama has too many big plays on offense and I think we are seeing an overreaction to last week's game in the line so I will gladly take Alabama -4.

Added one more today:

BYU -4 -124

I think this line is being influenced by BYU's performance last week, which . They have a prime time Friday night game and a chance to show the nation they are for real since they have a good chance to go unbeaten this year. I am not a Dana Holgerson fan at all as his team's are typically undisciplined and mistake prone, the opposite of BYU. BYU is a very physical team and I think they will dominate both lines of scrimmage. Houston will turn it over a few times and I expect BYU to win by a TD or more.

Added one more in the BYU game:

BYU TT Ov 33

I do not expect much resistance from the Houston defense. Tulane put up 31 and was terrible on offense. As I said before, I expect a strong effort from BYU and its offense tonight.

I just do not get the Houston love here so I just added:

BYU -3

I will go down with the ship if they lose but I still like this game.

Had a very good night last night with BYU and their Ov, so adding one for today:

Pitt TT Ov 17.5

I like Pitt in this game, but will go with their total. The Clemson hangover is real, so I expect this to be much closer than most think.

Great 4-0 weekend and on a 6-0 run, so lets keep this going.

One already in:

NC State +14.5 -115

North Carolina was overrated and proved it this weekend. I will gladly take over 2 TDs in this game so played it now.

Others I am close to pulling the trigger on:

UAB
Maryland

Great run you are on. Congrats
Be careful on that UNC game. Line now 16.5. State QB out for the year. From what I have seen this year the second string QB will be lucky to direct 2 scoring drives. Defense may get turnovers and score but I don?t think State will score more than 21 points. As you know though anything can happen in rivalry.
Good luck

Thanks Lowell. Yeah, I think I pulled the trigger too soon on that one, but the UNC defense is bad, so this is a lot of points to cover, but I should have waited.

Put this in right now:

UAB -2.5 -108

I think Louisiana continues to get too much respect from lines makers. They are 1-6 ATS their last 7 and UAB has won their last 10 home games. I will grab this under 3 while I can.

Had a feeling the Maryland line would jump and it went from 8 to 11 overnight. Will sit back and watch it and continue to research MD's offense to see if they can put up some points. Not sure Northwestern should be laying this many points. Maryland's schedule is absolutely brutal and this could be one of the only games they have a chance to win until the last game of the season. This is going to be an ugly offensive game. Probably a game to lay off given all the questions.
