Vanished into vortex
Anyone else see the clips on SportsCenter yesterday of the jag-off catching a fish and screaming about it, followed by dropping to his knees apparently in tears, OVER CATCHING A FISH! I know ESPN shows some real crap, but this has to be right up there with Spelling Bee and Chess matches. Oh I am so proud that the Bassamaster Classic will be in Pittsburgh next year, nothing like dragging chum out of the Mon river to bring in the tourists. I'll be the one on the Clemente bridge with the "can anyone here spell bass?" sign. The friggin city is bankrupt due to a completly incompetent mayor and this is what we have to look foreward to, televised fishing :cursin:

totally disagree with you. Sure, the guy was yelling and screaming, but a bit more was at stake than just catching a fish. Lots of these guys have college educations as well, so that generalization does not work. I work with lots of doctors that can't spell. To each his own.

Six five, he was way over the top, I was waiting to hear "I'm going to Disneyland". The generalization may be out of line, but this guy was hysterical, Moneymaker didn't act like that after winning 3 MILLION and I think Poker and Fishing are about equal on the "is this a sport" argument.

Completely disagree with your take on the BASS tour. Great competition and great TV for those of us who love to bass fish.

Completely agree with you on Iaconelli. He is a complete idiot. Besides the screaming he did a break dance on stage last year in New Orleans. He fits better into ESPN Street Ball.

Penguin......that guy was cracking me up. I've never fished before but if it's even remotely close to that exciting I might have to give it a try.

I catch more Bass than these yips riding around in their High Tech race boats..
Nothing better than taking the Mastercraft out at 6am and carving up the lake as I slalom around these fishheads.
They actually have the nads to flip me off as I go through the slalom course that is set up for us , not for their fishing!

Just flipped over to see what the 'excitement' was all about.

Absolutely ridiculous. The entrances, the fishermen themselves...extremely cheesy.

Having said that, I think we need to bring back the Outdoor Forum to further discuss matters like this.

not to be a dick or anything penguin.....but if you are going to talk about another's education, you might want to really proofread what you type. Foreward....means something completely different than the Forward you should've used.

I've fished in "small" tournaments" before and it is a "competition of knowledge and skill", kinda like GOLF, not real physical, but knowing the lay of the course and which equipment to use, etc....
Have you ever checked into how much money some of these fellas make a year.....fishing. I can tell you now if any boatmaker wants to hand me a new boat, fishing poles, possibly a new vehicle to pull the boat, pay all my entry fees and related expenses, for me to earn a living and advertise their businesses, yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd be all over that :moon:
