Hudson Valley area.....NY
Love my southern brothers in NJ but lets face it...Jersey during Labor Day weekend before Schaino arrived at Rutgers was about.....everyone from NY driving down to the NJ Malls[most in the US] for the "back to school" sales.Jersey has no sales tax...places like Paramus were packed...but with the arrival of rutgers football New Brunswick will get the crowds for todays game vs Fresno..
Not sure if California has a sales tax but I'll bet the Bulldog players hit a few malls yesterday. Enough said......

Fresno +4.5 over Rutgers *****
Fresno ML ***
I know a lot more about RU so I'll start there.Rice, RU's big time star has gone pro.Replacing him is going to be unreal. The OL has one starter back in his original postion{musical chairs] There are 4 Rb's looking to replace Rice and I'm sure someone will emerge and be solid.WR's are outstanding...Britt and Underwood,,both 1,000 yds lyr..Teel comes back for 5th year.Has many records at RU but I've seen him maybe 10-15 times and the guy still doesn't impress me.it's love hate with RU fans..he looks great and then throws right at a wrong color uniform.
He has 36 ints to 34 td's.
RU defense lost there top pass rusher,DL will be ok..LB's are good but also new..DB's are outstanding.Corners and safties are athletic and quick.
Sp teams is a huge question mark.Ito is gone.So new place kicker, new punter, new kickoff and punt returner, new coach, etc. This might take some time for these guys to get together..big time weakness.
Also RU has 5 new assistent coaches..could be early problem in 1st few games...

Fresno is a solid team.Hill's an outstanding coach.Brandstater is a 6'5 Qb who has a great arm and outstanding footwork. Is very elusive and comes out in the pocket to throw or run.Go to youtube and type in Brandstater hi-lites..wow...OL is solid....WR's are quick and slashing... Fres has a great TE in Bear Pascoe at 6'5 260. He will be a tough guy to stop today.RB's with Mathews and Miller[go to youtube and type in Mathews hi-lites...quick,stutter step, etc]
Defense is something they need to improve on but they bring back most of the DL.LB's and Db's are are pretty good.Fresno is one of those teams that lets you get more yardage but beats you..The WAC is a crazy conf with Hawaii,Boise, etc ..But Fresno returns 10 off starters and 17 players.
RU needs to replace its RB,OL,DL and special teams...there speed at WR and Db's keeps them in this game but I think Fresno has more experince,a solid Qb,great TE,and good Rb's and OL.
Think the Scarlet nites are in trouble today.Bulldogs win outright....love the +4.5 pts...
if the game is over fast Bulldogs might be able to hit a few malls...Gl to everyone...

Did pretty good this week.My two favorite teams lost... Army and North Texas. Already jumped on Tulsa -20 over North Texas...that line will go up to -22 or -23.
and as a side note..North Texas and Army signed a 8 year home-away contract...think it starts in 2010....North Texas is a 7 pt favorite...starting to capp it already..

On another quick sidenote...I was forced to retire back in Dec. The 5 board memebers that voted me out 5-4 were defeated in May from office in a landslide vote. They all resigned the nexy day instead of waiting two months for there term to expire. Five new bd memebers that ran because of me were elected and now it is a 9-0 box board. They offered me my position back but one of my best friends had taken over for me so I couldn't do that.I was offered about 4 positions at other schools and tomorrow I start at my new school.I was at one school for 23 yrs, then 10 years the most recent.Tomorrrow I start at my 3rd school in 34 years of education...I always said "things happen for a reason" and they did..GL today

Congrats on your new position, Box. Glad you're back doing what you love. Your new kids will also be the lucky ones. Best to you and them.
Dog Lover (in Austin). P.S. Horns looked good Sat. night against a decent FAU squad.

Congratulations on your new position box. Add another list of staff and students who will be blessed to be the fortunate ones to have you introduced into their lives. The impact and rewards received by both sides in the student/teacher relationship are immeasurable. I am beginning my 36th year as an educator. The daily smiles, compliments, congratulations, and success stories are things only a person in the field would understand. We do it not for the monetary compensation (what monetary compensation?:mj07: ) but for the love of what we believe in. I wish you the best for the coming school year.

Oh...... and go Bulldogs!!:00hour

I don't know how such a sorry affair could turn out any better.

Have a great year.
