Seton Hall -10 over Rutgers ****
Nites are 10-1 best start since the mid 70's team...Jordan gets fired last yr and in comes Pickiell from Stony Brook..he brings his defense and rebounding philosophy and changes the Rutgers culture probably at the 1st practice...he has 3 decent gds and Freeman a good fd who can score...but they also scheduled weak teams knowing once the B-10 season starts they could be in trouble. They have in the next 4 games Wisky,Mich St and Iowa on the road...Nites were last place in almost everything last year in conf...they are much improved but still can't shoot 3's ...they will be better and win some games in the RAC but its still a long way off...can't take that 10-1 record to serious yet....Rutgers one team they played that was good was Miami and they lost... Hall is tough..they have won the last 2 games in this series by an avg of 28 pts....Carrington the gd is one of the top players in the B-east....can do everything...inside you have the Desi and Angel show..these two rebound and can score...Hall has been tested beating Cal,Iowa and So car..they did lose to Florida and Stanford...but Halls biggest strength is defense...they are tough on D...weakness is depth....this game is in Newark a neutral site....think Rutgers gets exposed somewhat and Hall in the 2nd half pulls away...Pikkiell is not a miracle worker yet but a good coach...

Providence -10 over Boston Col ******
Prov can score but really play tough defense...the 2 fds Bullock and juco transfer Holt are a great tandem inside...its tough to keep these guys from scoring and off the bds..then you have Lindsey who is avg in double d's...but Cartwright is the straw in the attack...at 5'10 he is faster then the "speeding lite". has 94 assists already runs the offense...inside they also have Fazekas and Young at 6'8 and 6'9....they can shoot the 3 and have played a tough schedule..URI,Vir,Memphis.Ohio st....boston col comes in after getting beat by an avg Fairfield team 89-83...the other day....BC defense was unreal...Stags ran a pick and roll and scored 5 times when one of the BC players didn't roll or switch on the play...5 uncontested layup....I have never seen that in my life...Christian the coach should of been fired on the spot..thank god the announcers couldn't believe it to on TV...then Nelson is the only player on Fairfield that should have someone on him 24-7...Stags ran a gd on his side.. Nelson def man would drop off him to help...then the Stag gd would kick out to a wide open Nelson..he hit 7 uncontested jumpers..everyone was a swish....over and over again...anyway BC came back after being down by 10 and tied it up....with minutes to go....but Fair they ran another pick and roll and scored..and now down by 3 or 4 they forgot Nelson again..omg..he hit a swish and they win by 6....BC has one nice player in Robinson..he scores very quietly and can shoot...Bowman the freshman gd had a career day scoring 30...but turned it over so many times...and that is theri problem today...BC has 3 starters that have 35,28 and 27 turnovers..they avg 72 and give up 72.. front court is undersized and they have very little depth...
they were 0-16 in the ACC lyr and will be 0-16 this year...the only thing that scares me is that Christian at practice the last 3 days went over pick and roll and corrected it..because if he didn't Bullock and Holt will be jamming all day....Think the Friars know they have XU and Butler on the road next....go into those games with a little steam...

Tulane -3 over Texas St **
reverse that above..
Both teams are bad...just think the Bobcats are not as good. Wave have played a much tougher schedule despite losing all those..they both played McNeese where Tex st won by 12 and Tulane lost by 7...but Tulane is at home..it has Reynolds who avg 16 pts a game and then 5 others that all avg 10 pts a game..Wave play no defense giving up 78 pts a game ranking them 302....bobcats can play defense...they only give up 66 pts a game...but if you see who they played...Howard Payne,Rita Payne,Ok Panhandle, and lost to UT Rio Grande....that school is in trouble when Trump takes over....hopefully the campus is on our side of the Rio Grande...Bobcats on offense have trouble scoring..kasper is an excellant but needs to recruit some horses...he should of stayed at SFA a few yr back...

My son flew in yesterday from Austin with his girlfriend.. I get a text at 6.30 in the morning from him at the austin airport..." going thru security with the UAB basketball team right now....they don't look very happy...did Texas beat them yesterday...." I text back..." Texas blew them out by 30".... Text from my son " I could see that, they weren't happy campers at the airport"...I didn't tell my son what a fool I was since his dad took UAB +8....

day 6..no bats.... going to play La Tech -7 big over Navy ****
