ah, the granddaddy of 'em all... the BBVA Compass Bowl. the game we've all been waiting for. it's finally here.

pitt (+3) 2 units. c'mon, this line is crazy low, begging for ole miss money. don't give it to 'em. i think now that the panthers are one year older and one year wiser, they will not succumb to the temptations of downtown birmingham and they'll be focused on getting a compass bowl win. the only possible distraction... all the pitt players visiting their 3-month old babies that they made last year. it might be a little awkward, as i'm sure none of them expected to ever be in birmingham again.
ok, one moment of seriousness... i think the difference will be turnovers. pitt only turned the ball over 8 times all year, best in the country. somehow sunseri got a lot smarter with the ball, only throwing 2 INTs. wallace for ole miss is a turnover machine, throwing 15 INTs.

thanks, PJ! although i wouldn't be very comfortable being on the same side as myself right now. :)

one correction, and i hope it doesn't impact anyone's wager at this point. turns out, this is pitt's THIRD straight visit to birmingham. so those kids are mostly 15 months old. and the visits are even more awkward.

when you really think about it though, this is just another advantage for the panthers. by now, they know which birmingham hookers have the clap and which ones are clean.
