Bcs....Auburn/OU question? Someone explain this please...

If Auburn beats Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee the next three games how in the world would they not surpass OU as the #2 in the BCS...............If Ou wins against Nebraska(Yawn) Baylor(Yawn) and the winner of the Big 12 north........which they should easily win the next 3..............

Call me a friggin idiot but how can OU still remain #2 if both teams win out??????????

I agree with you. As of right now OU deserves to be #2 and AU #3. But if AU and OU win out AND AU does so impressively, then AU should be ranked #2 ahead of OU. If I had an AP vote, AU would get my vote for #2.

However, if USC meets OU for the Orange Bowl it will be bigger ratings. Leinart/Bush vs White/Peterson. Stoops vs Carroll. Both teams winning a NC within the last 4 years.

Many consider Leinart and White top 3 QB's in the country.

Many consider Peterson/Bush top 5 players in the country.

Many consider Stoops and Carroll top 2 coaches in the country.

Both teams combined will prob. have 4 Heisman finalists in Dec.!

Both OU and USC have more tradition and better programs than AU.

So that might answer your question as to why OU would remain #2 over AU.

USC sucks! They have not played ANY talent and play like crap against mediocre teams. What a joke that strength of schedule was taken out, or USC wouldn't be in the top 5!

Cal QB Rogers and ASU QB Walters are both 1st round NFL QB's. CAL RB Arrington has more yards rushing than OU's Peterson. Thats just from the top of my head from 2 teams USC played.

The strength of schedule that you quote is based on just one computer poll so it is not the end all answer. I can post for you a great many computer polls that do not rate USC higher than Auburn or Okie for strength, for example the NCAA's own formula that they use on their website rates Okie as the 10th toughest schedule, AUburn 21st and USC 38th. I have seen you post this data before and you do not disclose that it is based on just one sample.
