Scott I must admit that as much as I like to make fun of you, I respect your opinions and detailed explanations and research...I may think some of your statements are "homer" statements but i respect the way that you argue/discuss...gl to usc, they'll need it...

I'm not saying you are lying about some of things you mention Scott. I just call you a homer because you don't seem to objectively look at all facts within a case. You come across as USC's case is the only legitimate one & any facts saying otherwise aren't really important.

In the end these discussions just prove more & more why a playoff system is needed. In the end of last year USC was playing some great football & were clearly one of the 3 hottest teams in the country but because they lost it didn't matter how hot they became.

Critics against the playoff system use various reasons as to why the BCS is the right thing. One of their reasons is it generates alot of discussion which clearly has & the other reason is because it keeps the intensity there for every game.

Now some might think it would be a good idea to not really talk about the BCS much as it would fuel the critics first line of thought but on the flip side if people against it didn't speak up, they might think the majority like the BCS which clearly isn't the case.

A case could be made for roughly 10 teams & why they would deserve a shot in the playoffs. Clearly if there was a playoff system, the games would mean something, maybe even more as you would have to qualify for the postseason. This system is a joke as teams like LSU, USC, etc shouldn't have to have their title hopes dashed because of one freaking loss. These two in particular are playing some great football & it is a shame that one will totally be screwed in the end as usual. The BCS owes the Pac 10 one after what they did to Oregon ;)

Last I checked the Pac 10 and Big 11 do not play every team in their conference. The Pac 10 had no problem adding ASU and AZ which arent exactly Harvard and Yale. Actually Texas was "unofficially" invited about 10 years ago but couldnt do it because AM wasnt invited - probation, etc., and Colorado said no.

playoff....ACC & Big East playoff.....plus 2 at large....there's as
close to a playoff system as it gets, then play the $$$$ Bowl
