SEC folks,

How would LSU getting passed up go over?

How would LSU getting passed up in favor of UGA go over?

I really thought they were going to pull out oif this system with Auburn getting passed up, but what happens here?

Polls--Harris and Coaches--do matter as they constitute a big part of the overall computer system.

Wow, will there be a lot to chew on in the next 24 hours!

Harris, AP, and Coaches polls don't mean anything. The coaches and the schools voted for this system.

That's incorrect. The Harris poll and coaches poll make up a substantial chunk of the BCS computer formula. Only the AP poll doesn't matter.

That is correct.....AP backed out, that poll is irrelevant as far as this is concerned.

IIRC, the Harris and Coaches make up 2/3 of the BCS formula....it is very relevant how those votes shake up.

When Auburn got shafted, however, I do not think the polls graded out as important as 2/3, though.....this was tinkering done in response to that.

And, as for that last remaining unbeaten team.....dont look now, but they're down 14-0.....they weren't going to BCS title game anyway, but still have $8 million on the line possibly with a win.

I have no idea who will get in the BCS game with OSU but I do know this has been one kickass season of college football. I cant remember a season that had as many mindblowing upsets or games going down to the last minute(SEC mainly). For heaven's sake South Florida was #2 this year!

Who do you put in with OSU in BCS?

USC- 2 loss team beaten by Stanford at home :nono:
VT- 2 loss team killed by LSU :nono:
Georgia- 2 loss team didn't win their conf. much less division. Prob. hottest team in CF but. . . :nono:
Kansas- 1 loss but only beat 1 top 25 team (Kansas St. # 24) :nono:
LSU- 2 loss team (losses occurred in triple overtimes) I guess I'd give them the nod even though they've lost twice since UGA went on their streak.

Would love to see LSU vs. Georgia but will prob. be

OSU vs. LSU.

I have said it before, and it is still the case. All conferences agreed to the current BCS system, so IMO whoever makes it according to the system in place deserves to be there.

GL to all VT, UGA, LSU, Kansas and USC. One of those teams will get a crack at what I feel is a good, but not great, Ohio State team.

BCS may suck, but college football is awsome nonetheless.

It SHOULD be Ohio State vs Georgia...

I'm not saying that's what is going to happen and I've said for decades how bad the system is.

There is a system in place and especially after the first half of the season, the system goes like this. If a team is ranked 3rd and #2 loses, then #3 moves up and so on.

If Georgia is ranked ahead of LSU and does not lose.....its pretty simple, Georgia stays ahead of LSU no matter what.

Its simply an AWFUL system and we the fans need to change it but that will never happen. If we all could somehow get together and just take a year off, they'd have to give us a better product. Playoff system, less commercials, etc.

But they've got us and we keep tuning in to the garbage they sell.

It would suck for UGA to have to play Hawaii in the Sugar if they don't get in BCS title. Thats a no win situation. If you beat Hawaii well you were supposed to but if you don't . . .

They played WVU in Sugar in Atlanta in '05 and got beat by Slaton and White.

All that said, I think LSU "deserves" to be there. College OT is a joke and they are pretty much a 9-0-2 team.

But thats not the way the polls work and if Georgia is ahead of them and didn't lose, then GA should move up to #2.

Like Richt said, there is no rule that says you have to win your conference championship. Thats not part of this "year long playoff" everyone talks about. You win, you move up, thats the agreement.

**** the BCS, but Georgia should get in...

Shit...I could easily argue for OU over LSU. Two losses as well and one with their starting QB out for all but 2 plays? I dont give a crap about 2 3OT losses....both were against very questionable teams and one was at home.

And while I see the argument against Georgia for not making its conference title game...but at least they play in a conference that has one. Ohio State isnt playing in such a game either, and the Big 11 was weak as could be this year.

Kansas yes lost to Mizzou...but they only have one loss which none of thse other teams can say.

My guess is it will be LSU. And it will be a joke. Play poorly against an average team and suddenly shoot past 5 teams? Ridiculous.

Its also funny how Ohio State is sort of locked in when Georgia is not.

Buckeyes are #3 with one loss but played in a very weak Big 10 and had a JOKE of a non-conference schedule (YoungstownSt, Akron, Washington, KentSt).

Kansas has one loss, a joke of a schedule, and played in the Big 12 so what's the difference?

Honestly, I'd like to see LSU play Georgia for the title. SEC is head and shoulders best conference so why not let them play for the title.

Basically we need a playoff and have for years. The Big 10 presidents need to die off because they are pure crap.

I agree with that as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing Okla vs Georgia.

Tenn should have beaten LSU but Les Miles has a horseshoe up his ass.

I'm just sick of the whole system b/c even the system constantly contradicts itself.

Why is GA better than LSU this week, but then after LSU barely beats Tenn, now they are better when GA didn't play? But there still not as good as OhioSt who didn't play?

PLAYOFF. I've been screaming and writing letters for years and I'm done.

The history of college football is great but its the most tainted sport ever. There are very few true nat'l champs. All of Notre Dames and then a few others ;)
