So Scott4fullofsh*t the AP poll only matter when it benefits USC?

On another note, somebody with an ounce of sense tell me, it Ohio St wins and it's a close game why should USC be #2?

Isn't a close loss to the best team in the country on the road worth more than USC's loss to an unranked team?

AP poll is no longer part of the BCS formula. So the AP poll only matters at the END OF THE SEASON!. At the end of the season, you will have the BCS NC and AP NC. Same as always. Not difficult to understand.

On another note, somebody with an ounce of sense tell me, it Ohio St wins and it's a close game why should USC be #2?

Isn't a close loss to the best team in the country on the road worth more than USC's loss to an unranked team?

A 1 loss USC team has a better resume than a 1 loss Michigan team. Therefore, USC is the more deserving team. Why the heck are you only looking at 1 game for each team. Look at an entire season. USC without a doubt, has a much better resume than Michigan.

2nd, if Michigan fails to beat Ohio St., lets see if another team can! No team should get 2 opportunites to win 1 game.

Wouldn't USC be beating the #5 or maybe #4 ranked BCS team in the country? (ND)

Let see, to end the year, Michigan loses to #1 ranked BCS team, USC beats the #5 ranked BCS team, and you want to put Michigan at #2?

LET ME REMIND YOU USC beat Arkansas @ARKY (50-14) who has a chance at finishing the season in the top 5 BCS rankings. GIVE ME A BREAK! USC not deserving of the #2 ranking in the BCS? :mj07:

USC better resume, more quality wins, tougher SOS, but Michigan should be ranked ahead of USC? :nono:

AT THE END OF THE YEAR USC MIGHT HAVE THE MOST WINS AGAINST BOWL TEAMS THAN ANY OTHER TEAM IN THE COUNTRY! DEF. MORE THAN MICHIGAN!

But then again, you don't think USC deserves #2 ranking. :banghead:

Sorry but losing to a shit team has to count for something. Michigan will hve beaten badly, ON THE ROAD ,the same Notre Dame team that is supposedly an impressive win. Nobody in the conversation has a worse loss than USC. Nobody.

so does sos and usc's blows away mich or ohio states sos

as for that shit bag of a team oregon state......saragin has them ranked 24th......much higher than the 70's, 80's 90's ranked teams that the bottom of the big ten offers in ill, nw, mich state, ind etc

a 1 loss mich vs a 1 loss usc

there is no doubt sc has the worse loss:

oregon state
vs
ohio state

but sc would also have the more impressive wins and schedule strength......by far and it's not even close

9 teams in saragins top 30

vs

3 teams in saragins top 30

So Cal
TO's was the reason USC lost to Oregon St.
It doesn't take a genius to realize that.

If USC wins the last 3 games they will play for the NC.
KEY WORD 'IF"

Thats really good considering this was suppose to be a rebuilding season.

If the Buckeyes played USC in the NC what do you think the spread would be?

USC would imrpess you more if they lost @Arkansas, or lost to Nebraska, or @Washington St., or against ranked Oregon, or CAL? ND? UCLA?

Wouldn't you rather lose to a lesser team and beat all the quality opponents?

Think about it.

What is more impressive. Michigan beating Ohio St. and losing to Northwestern or Michigan beating Northwestern and losing to Ohio St.?

Answer is obvious. :yup

USC has SO MANY quality wins with one of the toughest (if not the toughest) schedule in the country. Nobody can dispute that. So why the heck would anyone focus only on USC losing to Oregon St.? Everyone knows USC lost to OSU @OSU because of 4 turnovers and punt return TD. Yet USC only lost by 1pt. Says a lot about USC. Oregon St. didn't beat USC, USC beat themselves. Quite obvious.

Go ahead and root for the LOSER of Michigan/OSU to play in the BCS NC.

YOU REWARD LOSERS! ;142loser:

I DON'T! :nono:

How is letting the Ohio State/Michigan loser into the NC game with 1 loss any different than letting USC in? You say "You reward losers"... isn't SC a loser also?

And, you talk about strength of schedule.. .let's say Michigan beats Ohio State... who went into Texas and beat them handily... do you really think it won't be Michigan and Ohio State for the NC?

I think SC's ONLY chance is for Ohio State to beat Michigan handily....if Ohio State wins a close one, or if Michigan pulls the upset, it will be Ohio State-Michigan....

IMHO, it won't be USC anyway - I don't think they can beat both ND and Cal anyway....

As much as I hate this system, I love a lot about these next couple weeks...except one thing.

OhioSt/Mich is just being played too early. Loser is going to drop to 3rd or maybe 4th.

How crappy is it going to be having Arkansas play Fla. Both are high-ranked, one-loss teams. But only FLA will have a chance at title.

USC will play ND. Same thing. Only USC will have a chance at title.

But Michigan/OSU loser will get 2 chances (only one that they can control).

So many deserving teams and it can't be decided on the field. Rutgers included.

Also, I hate that scores are factored in at all.
Who cares if USC only lost by 2 to Oregon St. They lost. Just like they WON against Washington, even though Wash. got dicked at end by clock.

Who cares if ND got waxed by Michigan. Mich. beat ND.

There are too many variables that go into a game. A team may get a couple late scores to make the game look more respectable against back-ups and/or a prevent defense.

Another team might be a running team and have to resort to passing and game gets out of hand, etc.

Is a team supposed to be down 14 and not try to comeback b/c it could lead to a blowout? No. A loss is a loss.

Its ridiculous.

lol. Yeah, I know....I'm VERY biased being an Irish fan.

But I can also see past it to know it just sucks to have teams play a whole season and lose 1 game. In ND's case, they lose one game to the #2 team in the nation in mid-Sept...

And now these 1-loss teams can do nothing more than play spoiler to other 1-loss teams.

Also, no one replied to when I said, if you aren't #1 in your conference, then why do you think you should be #1 in the nation?

Can we please, please have a playoff..........

So, Ive been following this thread & am amazed.

Ive seen countless threads on Madjacks talking about how a playoff system would be the best thing for college football (ok, except for Nick Douglas).

Then at the end of the season, we have the possibility of having 4 of the top 5 teams play each other. So what if the seeds are a little messed up (like 1 v 2 & 3 v 5)? This may be the closest we ever get to seeing a playoff.
