Going into last week's game they had played 1.

Tennessee - real weak and real terrible but eligible

ASU - needs a W over Zona this weekend to be eligible, not gonna happen

Stanford - a legitimate team

Washington - could beat WSU this weekend for their 6th win. Complete joke if they go to a bowl

Zona - on a serious skid and may lose their 4th straight to end the reg season this week but already eligible. Don't see them losing to ASU though

OSU - needs to beat Oregon to become eligible

So I guess you call "Quality wins" wins over Bowl eligible teams... maybe:

1) Tennessee - when the team was in shambles early this year, they have gotten a lot better as the year went on

2) Stanford - very solid

3) Washington - terrible

4) Zona - Meh

Technically have beaten 4 Bowl Eligible teams if Wash beats Wash St this weekend.

TCU has beaten: Baylor, SMU, BYU, AF, Utah, SDSt. So 2 more bowl eligible teams than Oregon. But 0 wins over a good team. Don't see any of these opponents playing after Christmas, let alone after New Years.

Auburn has 8. and 5 of them are top 25 teams.

You're really going to say Tenn, ASU and Wash are quality wins then say TCU played 0 good teams? Opinion not fact.

And the reason you won't see any of those bowl eligible teams play after New Year's is because the MWC and CUSA have crappy bowl tie-ins. Baylor could have been in the Cotton if they had managed one win out of their last three games.

So. Cal
http://espn.go.com/blog/pac10/post/_/id/16517/why-stanford-is-better-than-your-team

every year its the same argument and every year most dont get the pac-10

i'll break down the article and the reasons as to why the pac-10 is the toughest conf

1) always more road games than the usual bcs school

2) generally tough ooc schedules (vs bcs teams and on the road)

3) 9 conf games (which equals 5 additional losses for teams in the conf....make those vs cupcake u and the conf goes 10-0 instead of 5-5 and overall records look much better)

add to it, the road games arent 2 hour drives like most conf have.......try getting from tucson to pullman or corvallis......it's 3-4 hour flights.

stan is a damd good team and i'd love to see stan match up with wisc....wont happen......love to see stan take on ark/lsu in the sugar bowl.... wont happen.....they'll be lucky if they get an invite to the orange or fiesta vs the acc/big-12

GJN. ESPN also does Conference power rankings. Which the SEC wins year in and year out.

if you want to look at the "toughest" conference, the best indicator would be BCS bowl records. SEC also owns that category too. Our best beats your best everytime.

Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas and LSU will win their bowl games.

Auburn and Arkansas will be winning BCS bowls.

I love it when SEC fans point to bowl victories, but when they lose it's because they didn't want to be there. Can't have it both ways.

Never heard anyone out side of the BAMA fanbase say they didn't want to be in a bowl is the reason they lost. That's just that fanbase for you... homer or not.

You've got to think UF didn't really give a chit about playing Cincy last year and they beat the piss out of them.

Must understand that Bama fans are the only ones that see every season that doesn't result in a NC as a failure or "insignificant"... as silly as it is. it's true

So u think Aub, Ala, Ark and Lsu will win there bowl games ha????? Im a betting man and they get a split at best.....The south must be a big place with all those big heads down there.......All u have to do is look at the last 10 years..SEC vs Big 10 in all bowl games and its 50/50......U can have all the speed in the world but when u get punched in the mouth every play it evens the game quickly......In clollege hoops they have an ACC/big ten clash every year..They ought to do that with football..SEC/Big 10..Have some of your awesome fast teams come play in the shoe or camp randall and see what you got.
