Linebacker Von Miller had put on 15 pounds of muscle while dropping his body fat percentage.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. ? During linebacker Von Miller?s six-game suspension, he wasn?t able to practice with the team.

But he was allowed to use the team?s weight room and it sure seems like he took advantage of that.

?Best shape of my life,? Miller said. ?I feel a lot stronger, quicker and faster.?

Head Coach John Fox noticed how Miller?s work in the weight room paid off as soon as he stepped back on the practice field on Wednesday.

?He spent a lot of time with our strength and conditioning people so strength-wise he?s in outstanding shape,? Fox said. ?Obviously he?s fresh, as this is his opening game of the season. Everybody?s got little bumps and bruises they deal with, but so far so good. I?ve liked what I?ve seen.?

Miller reported to training camp at 245 pounds and since then has put on an additional 16 pounds ? 15 of them muscle.

Once his suspension began, Miller made the weight room a second home, training with Strength and Conditioning Coach Luke Richesson and his assistants Jason George, Anthony Lomando and Mike Eubanks.

?My personal trainer was Luke Richesson,? Miller said. ?Hopefully I can see him every day. We
had a lot of one-on-one time and we still have one-on-one time, not just lifting weights, but nutritionally, too. He was a huge catalyst in me getting my body in this type of shape. So hats off to Luke for pushing me.?

That time in the weight room didn?t just add bulk. It helped create a bigger, stronger and faster linebacker.

To go with his 15 pounds of added muscle, Miller dropped half a percent of body fat.

That means this week the Broncos defense is not just getting back the runner-up for the 2012 Defensive Player of the Year Award ? it is getting back an improved version of that player.

And the improvement isn?t just physical.

Miller was also allowed to be in team meetings and linebacker Wesley Woodyard said he noticed his teammate taking notes and preparing each week as if he were going to play.

?I've been paying attention in meetings,? Miller said. ?I wanted to make sure when I came back that I wasn't a step behind. If anything, I was prepared. I'd done conditioning, I'd worked out, I'd done everything possible to get myself ready for practice and the games.?

The added muscle didn?t come easy. It came through hours of hard work with Richesson and his staff.

Since his suspension began at the end of August, Miller amassed more than 75 hours in the weight room to go along with all his time spent studying his playbook and in meetings.

?I feel stronger just all around -- mentally, physically, just all around," Miller said. "When you don't have to worry about everything, it's just football, it's a whole lot easier just studying and everything. I just feel good. It's like I've said before, I'm in a great place physically and mentally.?

Stop!
Quit with the added muscle, drop in body fat, been working out like a gym rat crap already. That bold talk don't mean doodly squat.
Oh and this cheat will not show any signs of rust, we all know you can replace game time with time in the gym

What's more likely is this four eyed clown will be looking back dazed and confused as Luck runs and throws balls by him.

This will be another case of the Manning cramps as the passing of the guard happens in front of our very eyes. The dog will be live, very live indeed.

You obviously didn't watch MNF when Luck and & Co. put up a dazzling 9 on the scoreboard against the Steel Curtain known as the SD Chargers . In the meantime, Peyton & Co. are rewriting the record books season to date....Better than Brady and Moss did a few years back....Sounds like you could use a little of the Super Dank. :SIB

I don't have an opinion on this game either way, but what I have found personally to be the most common mistake in gambling is using last weeks game as a reference to the matchup at hand. Not usually is it a direct indicator of the type of team or effort you will get the following Sunday....quite the opposite at times..

i.e teams that lay an egg, look great the next week (sanfran worked by indy in sanfran, then the next week beats houston in a dismantling) and teams that look great, lose (eagles week #1 were superbowl contenders, week 2 chargers beat em in philly)

Like I said no opinion yet, just a suggestion to not use last weeks results as a deciding factor.....remember denver was in a close game until the 4th quarter......with Jacksonvile haha....

This is always a new week, with new schemes, and new mentalities.....any given Sunday :toast:

My intent was not to favor Denver due to lame effort by COlts last w/e, so as to show that their offense is inconsistent when compared to Denver who has been in 5th gear since the outset. Doubleornothing is offbase with the out with Manning and in with the new kid....as COrso would say, "not so fast my friend." Peyton is lighting it up. Have not decided about this game yet, my comment were simply season to date.

Yes, there will be no passing of the guard. Manning is having the best year of his career. Or anyone else's career for that matter...

The Colts have played one playoff contender, Seattle, which was a very nice victory. 49ers have been playing like crap. I don't think you can count them as a contender at this point. However, the Colts have also lost to the Chargers and the Dolphins. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Broncos smashed the reigning Super Bowl champions in Week 1. They have lost to.....Oh, that's right, they are undefeated! This Colts team is not familiar with Peyton at all. They only have two members of the D who were there when Peyton was. Don't use that logic to fall into the trap. Denver will score at least 6 touchdowns. Can Indy keep up?

More of a lurker than poster. But I wanted to chime in and throw my 3 cents into the Peyton/Luck circle.

I think that there is a lot of love for Peyton and the Broncos. Understandable with that record and having the Sheriff behind center. Really think that the Colts will play their best game of the season tonight and still lose by a field goal. Either way it should be a great game and very entertaining! Just seems way to easy to back the broncos? I probably will play very cautiously with the home dog.

Sunday night in a dome. Can the Indy fans get loud enough that the Sheriff will not be heard calling out plays at the line of scrimmage??

Good luck guys whether you go with the old guy or the young guy!
