Sam houston -9.5 over Monmouth ***
Sam beat Incarnate pretty handily. They have beaten a few ranked teams already and get to play at home. Monmouth is a fegular in the FCS playoffs making their 3rd appearance in last 4 years. Hawks have some solid offenses players led by last years freshmen of the year in 5'10 running back Farri and this years freshmen of the year in qb Muskett. Hawks have only played 3 or 4 games and Farri leads the nation in scoring offense having 9 td's in 3 games. Muskett at qb has big numbers too . Off line protects him and open ups holes for the rb's. Houston defense will have its hands full with Hawk attack.. But its Monmouth defense that will be the problem. Although defense has played good so far they haven't seen an offense like the Bearkats . To many stars esp at qb in Schmid. He can throw, run, is elusive in the pocket, throws that shuttle pass.. Very hard to contain. He has some weapons in noah Smith at rb and Ezzard,Chrest and Jefferson. All can catch and run. Smith hits the hole and is quick. Bearkats play uptempo and it will be the 1st time Monmouths defense will be challenged. Bearkats defense is very good but Hawks do have an offense esp with Farri getting free.. Think this could be a high scoring game but Schmid with his OL protecting him ,solid rb's and wr;s will be to much for hawks defense to stop. Can Monmouth defense slow them down. Don't think so .. Bearkats get to play in Hunstville at home.. Crowd might not matter much but Monmouth does have to travel .. think Bearkats get a double digit home win. win by 13 or 14 points. Don't think its a blowout because Hawks do have a good OL,outstanding rb,good TE and solid wr;s.. but Bearkats have to many play makers ..
