Sadly, I don't think marriage is a system that works longterm anymore. The stats don't lie.
Bart, I know that you're probably hurting. Thats normal. Trust me, this won't be easy for a while, but when you focus on yourself and get things in your life in order the way you want them, you'll be much happier. I haven't been happier since I've been divorced/single (I'm 47 and I was married for 16 years). Don't worry about seeing other women right now. Just focus on yourself. :0074
Regarding today's divorce rate, look at it from this standpoint/analogy. If you had $500k to invest and you went to a financial advisor and he told you he would invest it for you, BUT there was a 50 to 60% chance that you would lose half of your investment, would you do it? :nono:
so because the divorce rate is high you think something is wrong with marriage?
What I'm saying is that the numbers don't lie. Are there marriages that work? Yes, but there are more marriages that are unsuccessful than successful. Things have changed. These aren't the Ward and June Cleaver days anymore.
I don't think I'll be going down that road again anytime soon, if ever. To each their own.
