MYTH: Canadian beer is stronger than American beer.
TRUTH: There is no difference, only in the way the alcohol content is measured.
American brewers grade the alcohol by weight (abw), while Canadians measure
it by volume (abv). A Canadian beer with 5% abv is equal to an American brew with 4% abw.

MYTH: Drinking beer will give you a beer belly.
TRUTH: No food or drink can create fat deposits in specific areas of your body.
Like all foods, the more calories you consume the more likely they will be stored
as fat and cause weight gain. Beer contains no fat and averages 150 calories per serving.
It?s your lifestyle and what you eat with your beer that adds the pounds.

MYTH:
Beer tastes better in a frozen glass.
TRUTH: A beer that is too cold will numb the taste buds and kill the natural flavour.
For all styles of beer there are specific glassware that enhances the taste experience.

MYTH:
Beer is a poor second cousin to wine
TRUTH: Statistics Canada figures reveal that more than half of Canada?s total alcohol sales
volume is for beer, while wine and spirits split the balance. We spend a cool $8.5 billion a year on beer.
In addition, there are more style variations and flavour varieties of beer in the world than wine.

MYTH: Beer doesn't have as much alcohol as hard liquor.
TRUTH: A 12 ounce regular beer, a 5 ounce glass of wine and a 1.5 ounce
shot of hard liquor all contain exactly the same level of alcohol and are considered a standard drink.
