Race looks like one of them Breeders Cup circus shows; you know, a race amongst clones. :nono:

But this is the BELMONT and if there's a race that will detract me from my ONLY track of interest (good ole Philadelphia Park) THIS IS THE ONE. I musta played over a thousand waces and I'll never forget the race that produced my biggest win payoff EVER.. the BElLMONT. I think that wiener was also the biggest Belmont Stakes payoff wiener EVER (not sure about that though).

Sorry bout he bragging but I'll probably write this again here for next year Belmont Stakes.. I just LUV reminding myself about that score. LOL

When i played N.Y. racing I was actually a chalk type player and i can only remember one time I took a favorite in this race. I think this race always has the potential to light up the tote board when the results are posted. Hell, I bet 2 horses to beat Secretariat in the 1973 edition and I was right there at the finish line to see how wrong I was about that one; looking way up the track for my hosses (and the others) as Secretariat crossed the finish line.. :s2:

OK, enough of that...

I can't make my post that interesting by giving reasons like some posters do for their picks cause I do technical type handicapping which is about 80% from a calculator and 20% of my own reasoning. Just to make this thing a little more interesting for yas, I'll add some of the things I used for the reasoning part.

Only small to medium size bets for me on this year's edition cause it's really a tough one to figure out.

The Bets
Forget about exactas cause I got about 8 hosses rated as contenders. Like the "experts" do, I'll list my top three (not necessarily in order) listed by Morning Line odds:

No. 9, Revolutionary (9/2): One look at the pp's tell the story, no explanation really needed. Just look at this horse's record in GRADED STAKE races! Runs terrific whether off or on the pace. Terrible start in the Derby, certainly not the best of ride's either, and still closed a ton to get the Show. Consistent as all hell and has an excellent route jockey on his back. Only drawback I can think of is that the N.Y. bettors (smart dudes) may bet this horse down a bit.

No. 3, Overanalyze (12/1): Another one with a dyn-oh-mite graded stake's record. Pletcher/Johnny V./ Repole in his corner means - CAN DO!. Like Revolutionary, had a valid excuse in the Derby that sticks out like a sore thumb in his overall record. Good post should ensure a decent position in this race and I like the idea of having J.V. in that kind of situation. And how bout 1 for 1 at Belmont?. Downside?... .. maybe an off track today?

No. 8, Midnight Taboo (30/1 egad ):Well, same kinda connections as the no. 3 hoss and AGAIN.. that means "CAN DO!" LOL.
Working out like he has GOOD intentions (what ever happened to Mike Tyson anyway?) for today's affair and Gomez is arguable the best distance jockey in this race. Almost rated as high as Revolutionary according to my figures. Based on what I'm seeing, an off track presents no problem for this one. Downside?.. I know, I know... how ya expect a hoss whose only win was in a stinkin Mdn. 75k race will win the Belmont Stakes? Hey, maybe his bosses just UNDERestimated this one ability. :mj03: This one is improving with each start and those workouts in addition to his familiarity with N.Y. wacin has to mean something methinks. Besides... THIS IS THE BELMONT.

Next stop... Philly ;)

L@@KER REPORT always appreciated.

Hedging my wagers alittle because I have 7 horses linked in the Brooklyn-Belmont double.

Frustrating as all hell... had it up on the computer cause the TV was looking all over the place before the post parade. There was a GREAT LOOKER but i couldn't get the no.

In the post parade.. NO deadheads. None of them showed really good L@@KER moves.

That one that I couldn't get he no. was EXACTLY what I was looking for too. :(
Wish I wold got the riders silks, it was a dark color.. maybe blue.

You're welcome.. turned out to be OUTput though.:(

Did any horse run as expected? I don't believe so. NOT the most exciting Belmont i've ever seen; pretty boring. Unless you had the wiener, I guess.

Decent day at Philly.. played only two races.. caught a Place (Win/Place bet that paid something like 3.60 to place, Sheesh) but the other one was a $64 and change exacta and that healed the Belmont with some left over.

BTW, I don't think that L@@KER was Smith's horse.

Have a good rest of weekend.
