Brad Edwards says:

"If LSU and Boise State both win, USC's only remaining chance would be for Oklahoma to lose and fall to No. 2 in the polls -- between USC and LSU. If the Sooners lose and fall to No. 3 in both polls, then USC would be No. 1 in both polls and finish third in the BCS."

#1 in both polls and not playing in title game????

What a shame if that is true. This would be 2 years in a row USC is playing the best football and not a chance to play in the NC game. Last year USC did not deserve to play in NC but this year they sure as hell do. However, USC has only themselves to blame for losing to CAL.

IMO, if you get slapped around 35-7, you shouldnt play for the national title. I know with the screwy way these things get decided, it could happen, but this was an ass-kicking. And if you are #1 in both human polls, you must get a shot.

I think the best way to solve this is for the top 4 teams each year to enter into a seeded bowl scenario. Have the conventional bowl season, where they each play each other, 1v4, 2v3. Then finish it off with the winners at the end. That way, there would be bowls, and something of a playoff. I really see no other way.

It wouldnt be controversial at all for a 4th team, it is an easy choice for Michigan. They blew doors off Ohio St. straight up. Georgia has 3 losses. Texas didnt win conference, and neither did Tennessee. Easy pick.
