I may be dating myself but I managed to see Led Zepplin twice in the 70's and nobody and I've seen alot of shows, was better live then them.

I've seen PJ several times and it's always great. Will be going to the Dallas show next month and can't wait. Their my favorite band so I'm biased I know.

Rage was an incredible show. I remember being exhausted when I left and just wanting to lay down and sleep.

Blue October doesn't play in big venues but if you ever have a chance to check them out it's worth it.

Beastie Boys are up there for me. I think part of their energy is the crowd because most new almost all of the lyrics and rapped with them.

I also love Dave Matthews. Great band, great energy and not many concerts have better looking girls bouncing around singing.

Dude, that's an iawesome list. I might be good for 15% of the list. No Roxy Music? I'm surprised that you missed them.

My top few favorite pre 1990 rock bands were:
I tried to recall how many times I've seen each ( )

Beatles (never saw)
Roxy Music (7)
Brian Ferry (3)
Devo(8 or so local home town boys)
The Pretenders (3) Chrissy H also from here)
Queen (5)
Mott the Hoople (4)
Grand Funk Railroad (2)
ZZ Top (3)
Kiss (1)
Black Crowes (1)
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (3)

I really loved Mott and Queen actually opened up for Mott on one tour...

I'll bet you and me may be the only 2 here that liked and saw the NY Dolls.

Also Loved and have seen live on your list
Frank Zappa and the Mothers
CSNY
Stones
Heart (surprisingly excellent concert at U of Akron)
and a few others....

Would have loved to have seen Alice in Chains, I'll bet they were great before Stanley died.

Really impressed with your list though, it's quite diverse in rock and roll terms. :Yep:

As much as we don't care a whole lot about the Bobcats up here you are correct, they're terrific. They actually entertain their audience and are not like every other marching band in the land. There is a pretty good rivalry between them and the Buckeye band and dispute as to who is better. I like them both, kind of an apples and oranges thing.

Agree, although I put Metallica a tad bit in front of them. Another great live band with nonstop music is ZZ Top. Other great live performances I have seen are Stone Temple Pilots, Jackyl, Aerosmith, Suicidal Tendencies, and Alice in Chains.

One band that won't be mentioned here is Iron Maiden. I have seen a lot of bands, and they were the worst. I mean, I put bands that I have seen ahead of them like The Violent Femmes, Richard Marx, Trisha Yearwood, and the B 52's. they absolutely sucked ass.

They don't rock your face off but they are one of the best live performing bands in the last 25 years:

Pearl Jam

I agree Saint! Seen this band and Dave Matthews more than any other and they are great in concert.
