Best Opening Lines?

I was looking at different sites to get an opening line to compare with a closing line for movemnet and other studies but have had some difficulties and was wondering what lines were the correct ones.

For Example:

According to Don Best Butler opened as a 15.5 point favorite over Wisc GB and has since been moved up to 16 at Cris and Olympic for what could be a variety of reasons......but...

When i look at another site, fiest to be exact, Butler opened as a 15 point favorite and has been moved to 15.5 at WWTS...

although the movemnet is in the same direction the opening lines are different.

Now I have noticed throughtout the day that Fiest will change his opening line for whatever the reason so I was merely using this as an example. I also have used others such as sports network, (who are always late) and scores and odds, (should list the places where they get lines) but I just thought someone in here would know the best place to go.

Also hate to open a can of worms in here but are there any steam bettors in here? Correct me if I am wrong but if the line gets "steamed" isn't it too late to get the best value from the line since it already has moved?Just thinking out loud.

Thanks in Advance,

Before posting this question looking at Jack's live lines was the first thing I did and although I may not be familiar with the navigation I do not see where the opening line is posted. I see and use it for actual real time movement and consensus, but not for the opening line. Maybe i am just missing it and would be glad if anyone were to point it out. :)

Thanks again,

Click on the little number in parentheses right beside the game line. It will show you what the line opened at and when and how many times it has moved throughout the day. CRIS is usually one of the first books put their lines out but since they changed their format their lines have not been available on bestbettor.

thanks fenceman for the explanation.

your are correct all the line history from opening to close are in the brackets beside each game.

also for the money lines for the nhl and when baseball arrives from pinnacle you can also track the line history by clicking on current odds tab at the top...it is in time order instead of the rotation order like on the livelines page.

for all past games line history's click on past scores and click the line moves beside each game.

CRIS will be back up Monday or Tuesday of next week. They are changing their site around and just waiting for a stable feed.

Today's live lines page will not show this morning's movements due to some server upgrades we were in the middle of doing to setup some items for baseball...but all is back to normal as of 1230pm est.

Also the info button on the right hand side on the livelines page will be upgraded in the near future with some excellent features.

The scoreboard right now on the livelines page is currently at a 3 minute update, we are working on this to bring it down to a 1 minute update.

Also by next week as we are adding more sportsbooks to the livelines page you will have the ability to setup which sportsbooks you would like to see in order from page 1 going across.

Hope this helps.
