Hey guys - I'm going to be in Chicago for the Superbowl (and the following week) for a conference. I will be staying at the University Club at the corner of Michigan and Monroe. Having never been to Chicago, I thought I'd get some advice on places I need to make sure I go to. As a number one priority, any advice on the best place to watch the big game to get a good feel of the Chicago atmosphere with all the Bears fans? Also, any other food recommendations nearby would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Mother Hubbards at Hubbard and State streets is a good sports bar and will give you a good taste of Chicago and Bears fans .... there is always the ESPN Zone downtown on Ohio street, but I'm not real wild about the ESPNzones in particular.

Thanks for the reply guys - I've been told that Joe's Sportsbar would be a great place to watch the game. However, from looking at their website it may be difficult to get a table with all they have planned. Although, that may be a problem with most of the premier spots.

Also have been told I need to include Gino's East, Pizzano's on East, or Giordano's for the best deep dish.

Any other input woudl be greatly appreciated. Will be there all week and would love to make the most of the time not spent in the conference! TIA

Dude,
To be honest with you, anywhere around there will have something set up. Harry Carays is very close, Fadu's pub is close everyone will have something set up to watch that game. TRUST ME ON THAT.

As far as the eats go, all of the above are good but rather touristy if you know what I mean. There are a quite a few good places to get very good pizza. If you are stuck on deep dish then I would go to Genos. I prefer it to the rest. However, anywhere in the area where you can see the pizza before you eat it, in other words walk in and look to see, and if its full of people you are in for a friggin treat. I know this doesn't help much, but hell I replied to that guys Calculus thread too.
