DUNCAN IS THE BEST

DUNCAN IS THE BEST

What you are all failing to see in these passages is what CRITERIA are you using to say the best player ?

Bottom line is. If you had a draft of the top 15 players in the current NBA..the question would be...who's the first pick...thus that person would be THE BEST!

..WHO would you select number 1 to build a winning franchaise around ?

Isn't winning the criteria for being THE BEST ?

1) Duncan
2) Lebron
3) Nash

All 3 of these men took teams that were average or below average and made them winners.

Yes, Kobe has a lot of talent and is extremely athletic. But he's putting up the same numbers Scottie Pippen did when Jordan left.

39 points 9 rebounds 7 assists....but they LOSE.
He's playing on a .500 team

Things are different now with no Shaq..aren't they Kobe ?

Shaq has never won a title without Kobe either... Pippen NEVER put up the numbers Kobe did... Are you serious? Pippen never averaged over 35 pts, in fact, he never averaged over 20 pts...

do you just make up stats as you go. kobe is putting up the same numbers as pippen. maybe i passed out for a year, but find me a year where he ever averaged more than 22 points a game. but i guess thats close enough to 35.4 pts a game.

jordan in his prime with the other 4 lakers starters and bench would lose. nash with the other 4 lakers starters would lose worse. lebron with the other 4 lakers starters would lose even worse.

basketball is always been a 2 star league. lakers had magic and kareem, bulls had michael and scottie, spurs had duncan and robinson, now duncan and ginobli and parker. pistons are an anomoly as they have 5 really really good players.

if you were a gm starting a team today, the first player you take would be lebron and its not even close. his upside is too big and he's younger than the rest. but kobes the best there is. eventually lebron will pass him. and no gm in there right mind is building a team around duncan. no question, first ballot hall of famer but he's aging quickly.

why is there so many kobe haters? i guess the duke lacrosse players are also guilty of rape because the media says so. oh wait they are white. is that why all you hate kobe? what the fck did he ever do to you? jordan never cheated on his wife? or any nba player for that matter.

Failed to see my point.

Pippen was the goto guy there. Didn't make his players better.
one guy scores - everyone watches.

Shaq's been winning 50+ games a year.
Conferense Finals last year BRO in Miami
Finals in Orlando

Kobe's is an awesome player on a .500 team.
They'll be out on Saturday night.

AND YOU KNOW IT.

Who did the bulls have ????

This team went 72-10

Scottie Pippen
Dennis Rodman
Toni Kukoc
Steve Kerr
Ron Harper
Luc Longley
Bill Wennington
Jud Buechler
Dickey Simpkins
Jason Caffey
James Edwards
Jack Haley
John Salley

TEAM GAME BRO !!!

Look at these names. How in the hell did they go 72-10 ???

HMMMM...maybe it was Jordan's will.

Also..where is the BIG DOMINATE CENTER that the bulls won with like Kobe did with Shaq ?

The bulls use to throw everyone at Patrick Ewing and the kitchen sink.

Kobe has lots of skill.

STILL NOT A WINNER.

HE NEEDED THE BIG GUY TO WIN.

JORDAN DIDN'T

You put Jordan on that laker team NOW. With Phil Jackson as Coach...

I GUARENTEE that Jordan would WILL the team to victory.

I really like this idea wise, i think it is so hard for anyone to say right now who is the best player and what criteria u use.

And spursD, Jordan would be the best player in the NBA if he was 100% healthy as well. Hes gettin old and will be injured more and more. He was awsome, but he is fading, maybe a few more solid years out of him.

I would say players I would draft RIGHT NOW FOR MY TEAM. 1. Lebron, no question
2. Steve Nash
3. Kobe
4. Tim D
or KG at a very close 5.

Dwade, Heinrich, Dhoward, Amare, Carmello, Vince Carter or Tmac, Shaq if he wasnt retiring soon, and Jermaine Oneal make up my honorable mention

of course they will be out. you fail to understand the point. no one wins basketball games in the nba by themselves. jordan never won without players. do you think if shaq didn't have wade they would be anywhere?

as for the bold letters, thats a neat trick and all, but it just hides the fact that whoever you think is better, be it nash, duncan, lebron whomever......put them on the lakers and take off kobe. do you think they would beat anybody?
the answer is no.

nobody ever said the lakers were good. until they are out of cap room hell, they won't seriously compete. but this isn't a thread about whether the lakers are good. its about who is the best player. pick any player in the nba and put them in kobes place and honestly tell me if you think they would beat any playoff team except maybe the nuggets. you can't.

and if you think pippen was as good as kobe, well then theirs no use arguing. you are definitely entitled to your opinion.

Nash is freakin old.. speaking of fading, he is obviously due. His tank of gas is going to run out real fast, especially wiht PHX style ball. I would not draft him right now at age 32.

both nash and duncan are due, but both made my top 5, but right now i still say nash is playing better right now. and as you know it wasnt Duncan that won the championship, they wouldnt have won it if parker or ginobili werent on the team, and if it wasnt for horry they would have been beaten by pistons. Spurs one it last year, not duncan. they all played very very good.

Who here really thinks that if you put Lebron on the lakers that they would be worse? Not me, I think Cavs have WAAAAAAAAY less talent helping Lebron out. Or if Duncan or KG werent in the middle and passing the ball and in Phils triangle offense, Kobe works in it well, but those two guys both would work better.

bologna!!. Duncan was the only reason why they stayed close in games... sure it is a group effort, but Duncan is 75% why they win games. Everything revolves around him. Offense, defense... etc...

Oh that Horry game, Duncan had 27 points and 19 rebounds. Yea Duncan had no factor in that game... :142smilie

Oh yea Duncan in Game 7, singlehandley destroys the Pistons in the 2nd half, must of missed that one too.. :mj07:

TEAM GAME BRO !!!

you must not understand talent. re-look at those names.

Scottie Pippen better than Lamar Odom. Like to see you try and argue that.

Kukoc is better than Brian Cook.

Ron Harper is better than Smushmouth.

Dennis Rodman is way way better than any forward the Lakers have.

Wennington today is better than Kwame Brown.

are you seriously trying to say that the Lakers have more talent behind Kobe than the Bulls did with Jordan.

And really, IM NOT YOUR BRO. I'm just an anonymous poster on a message board like you trying to have an intelligent debate.

are you kidding me.

let me get this straight. you are going to argue that:

ilgauskas is a worse center than kwami brown

drew gooden is worse than brian cook

eric snow is worse than smush parker

you are entitled to your opinion, but to say the cavs have waaaaaay or whatever you said less talent is ignorant.

lemme see, Shaq has never won a nba title w/o kobe, but kobe has never won an nba playoff series w/o shaq, yet shaq led magic to nba finals and heat to eastern finals and looks fairly solid again, I wonder why good players dont particularly like playing with Kobe, isnt that part of being a winner, attracting other winners ... and as far as Kobe deserving mvp over Nash hands down that's akin to saying a small horse winning the Derby isnt as good as larger horse thats comes in 2nd ... winning = a winner

Shaq as also has been in the league a hell of a lot longer than Kobe. Kobe is 26 and Shaq is 33... Let Kobe have a few years in the league on his own before us start looking at the careers of each two... Plus, Shaq had Penny Hardaway at Orlando (top 10 players at the time) and D. Wade with the Heat (top 10 player right now). Put another top player in the league with Kobe and I would be willing to bet they could make it far in the playoffs.

why dont people flock to play with kobe if he' such a wonderful player--or does his contract prohbit lakers from signing people?
course MJ used to cut his to make a better team but with Kobe bending chicks over chairs and no longer able to get advertising $$ maybe hes stuck for being such a great guy? and i didnt bring up the comparison between shaq and kobe ...

UH i will argue that cavs have no bench and lakers at least have something coming offof bench, yes I will argue that lamar odom is better than Drew Gooden by a mile.
