I know everybody has their personal opinion on the best way to bet baseball, but is there a general consensus as to the most profitable betting strategy considering a $100 a day bankroll?
Bet the dogs straight up? Parlays? Round robins? Favorites?
Thanks for any help guys.

IMHO if you consistently eat chalk every day in MLB, your Bankroll will shrink faster than an ENRON 401K plan. It takes some balls to bet those doggies but they pay off. Will the Yankees or Cardinals go 162-0? Nope. Even with a good record of say 95-67 that team is not going to get very many units. Sometimes parlaying your big favorites together can work but if you do that too often, again the ENRON plan comes into effect. If you are new to this baseball thing, I suggest you don't even make any bets this year, but make picks and track your progress. Especially this time of year when teams are still establishing themselves and pitchers are getting those hanging sliders out of the way. Hope I have helped. I am sure some other very good cappers will have better advice.

You asked for opinions, here is mine. I play 2-3 games a day most of the time. However I will play more or less depending on what I like. I play 1 or 2 units virtually every play, although I will play one or two 3 units plays when I feel it. I play mostly favorites, although I will play anything where I feel I have an advantage.
My goal is to average +10 units per month or +60 for the year. How much a unit is for you has to depend on your bankroll, and must be able to weather losing streaks as they happen to us all. Therefore If I hit +60 at $100 a unit I make $6,000 per year. At $1,000 a unit I make $60,000. etc.....
It works for me. I cannot say it would for others. Most people play mostly dogs and respect that. Alot of people will tell you that it is not possible to make money playing mostly favorites, I disagree. But it is just my opinion.
Lastly I would say take everthing you hear anywhere with a grain of salt (including myself). Find something that fits and works for you and stick to it. Consistency to a plan that is viable is the key in my opinion. However, it is easier said than done. GOOD LUCK TO YOU...........

With a $100 bankroll per day limit I would play Dogs with lines of +150 or higher at $25 per game.

If there are only 3 games in a day that fit that criteria, then just play $75 that day.

how i play

how i play

there are some excellent cappers here. good advice would be to watch their playes for a week or two, see how they pick games and whether or not they list units won, etc.

stay away from parlay's, round robins, etc. difficult enough to win one game... which brings me to my point. i ahve always been successful playing one game a day. it takes incredible balls, but you can do it. be patient, watch the chalk and don't go over your budget for the week,. in other words, if you have one hundred bucks for the week and you blow it out by thursdasy because you lost on chalk, well tough luck, you are done for the week.

tonight i am playing atlanta, got them at 160. if i were playing 100 bucks a day, well you figure out the rest.

respectfully.

By the end of BB season if you have played about 50/50 F/D is a good start. Big fav win for a reason. But they cost to much on a loss. I like Medium fav and Medium to small dogs. I risk alarge Fav only if I believe it's a close to right as I can get. Parlays not for me.

Just come up with your own unit system

Just come up with your own unit system

and find the best matchups, no point in betting a dog just because it's a dog, I bet the Phillies yesterday , not because they were a dog because I liked the matchups.

A lot of good advice given already. My thoughts, actually, are that it doesn't matter the size of your bankroll per day, tho. It shouldn't matter if you bet $10, $100 or $1000 a day. IMHO, the $10 strategies should be the same as the $1000 ones.( Win, win, win with what is a comfortable money management system) Keep your comfortable money management plan. If you like a game alot, a certain pre planned % of your bankroll should go on that game. Or, just decide that all games are of equal value and divide your 'roll accordingly. What I would not do, however, is pick 5 games one day @ $20 per and if there is only one game of liking the next day, I would not lay my entire bankroll on it. (unless you are really in love with the game) Hope You Hit Em THE HITMAN

EDIT: Oh yeh, parlays. Generally speaking, they lead to ruin. Not so much in bases where you get the benefit of a truer line with them. Some folks like the "turn two fairly heavy faves into one dog" theory with them, but you still need two wins. Hell, its hard enough to get one sometimes !! But in other sports, any established bettor will/should tell you over the long run and as your only plays, they will eventually erode your cash. Still, even in bases, I would not play more than 20-25% of my $ on any given day on parlays, special circumstances excepted, of course.
