MLB:

WHITE SOX (28-12)
1:05PM FOX
CUBS (17-20)

The ?El Series? has the red hot White Sox and eight game winner Jon Garland (8-0, 2.41) coming to Wrigley to take on the cross town Cubbies. The Cubs starters have been banged up all year, but Derek Lee (12HR, 37RBI, .337) is making people say ?Sammy Who??

YANKEES (21-19)
1:05PM FOX
METS (21-19)

The ?Subway Series? sees two highly touted teams facing off at a point where fans want to know if they are for real or not. The Yanks arms are starting to catch up to their bats and have won nine in a row. It?s hard to believe the Mets are in fourth place!

ANGELS (22-17)
4:05PM FOX
DODGERS (22-17)

The ?Smogway? series has the two Los Angeles teams squaring off in Chavez Ravine. Vladimir Guerrero (7HR, 24RBI, .314) has his Angels in first place, while the Dodgers are currently in third place despite having an identical record .

NBA:

Will one of these series have a deciding game seven finale this ?weekender??

PACERS

PISTONS

This would be the most exciting of the possible game sevens in my opinion as two edgy teams return to the scene of the crime. Imagine the tension at the Palace in Auburn Hills!

SONICS

SPURS

If this goes to a deciding game seven, the Sonics will have a very tough time beating the seasoned Spurs on their home court. What a year the Sonics have had!

MAVS

SUNS

Would this game seven see the advantage to the visitors? The Suns are young and thin and depth could end up the deciding factor if the series goes deep.

PREAKNESS STAKES PREVIEW:

The Preakness Stakes is the easiest of the three Triple Crown races to handicap. Since most of these regally bred horses were trained to hit their peak just two weeks earlier, most of them continue that form cycle and produce an even stronger effort in the Preakness. This is exactly what has occurred the past two years; Funny Cide (2003) barely won the Kentucky Derby but returned with Jose Santos aboard to destroy his competition in the Preakness by 9 ?-lengths. Last year, Smarty Jones (2004) remained undefeated while capturing the Derby, then cruised two weeks later by 11-lengths, the largest margin of victory in Preakness? history. Amazingly, 6 of the past 8 Kentucky Derby winners have returned to win the Preakness. Looking back over 18-years of Kentucky Derby winners reveals 8 returning to win the Preakness, with another 5 Derby winners finishing second or third! In gambling terms, 13 of the last 18 (72%) Kentucky Derby winners have been on the Preakness trifecta ticket since 1987! However, this isn?t surprising. The Preakness field is reduced to a maximum of 14 starters and their performances in the Kentucky Derby allow us to gauge each horse?s true ability. After gaining valuable conditioning and experience during their Derby run, the 1 3/16 miles of the Preakness is the shortest distance of all three legs, and the easiest for them to complete.
