Most shelf stable products are still good for a couple months after expiration date......:SIB
Feed it to the pigs. It makes them fatter for bigger ribs! :0003
We throw it away the day before it goes out of code, except produce which is donated to our local zoo. :0008
Throw it away where? In your dumpsters?
Seems so wasteful. Are there laws about giving it away? Like giving it to shelters that feed the homeless.
There has to be good use for that stuff.
Not according to my wife?...
CostcoDepending on the item you send some back to the warehouse and you get credit for it. Damaged or out of code. Most own brand products you get zero credit on it so hopefully you can catch it in time and put it in the reduced for quick sale rack or give it to food share. Alot of product to cover so keeping track of it all is impossible but overall we do good. Betone, who do you work for? Albertsons here.
I know a lot of people that do this with expired food and leftovers. The pigs do get bigger and meatier. My father in law from the Czech Republic does this, slaughters the pigs and sells the meat to his friends or the local supermarket. I think this is very resourceful.
