Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Summary:

The Las Vegas Hilton is #1 this year. It is the only book to offer dime line (moneyline sides only, up to at least -160) and College Hockey lines. 20 cent lines on NHL totals and college sides and totals. Only book to offer 15 cent lines on NHL pucklines (they call goal line), which breaks to 20 cent at -200.

all other books deal 20 cent lines on both sides and totals, except Venetian (30 cent on totals) and Caesars properties (30 cent on sides and totals)--But it doesn't break to 40 cent until somewhere north of -220 (some books dealing 20 cent lines break to 40 cent over -200, like Golden Nugget)

You can bet moneyline and/or pucklines at these sportsbooks in LV: Hilton, The Palms, Planet Hollywood (the old Alladin), Cal Neva (locations downtown, just off strip, and in Henderson), Hard Rock Casino, Wynn Casino, Golden Nugget, and 10 MGM Mirage properties on the strip. The GL is 20 cent line.

The Grand Salami bet is offered at The Palms, Cal Neva and Golden Nugget. Some let you put it in a parlay, if parlay contains no other totals.

Planet Hollywood, Wynn Casino, Caesars properties and Golden Nugget offer NHL on their "daily parlay card".

El Cortez and Southpoint offer overnight lines, coming out around dinnertime. Southpoint's sportsbook is open 24/7 and convenient off I-15 south of strip.

the rest of the story

-- Those ten MGM Mirage properties are: Bellagio, Circus Circus, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Mirage, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Treasure Island.

-- Cal Neva: Based in Northern Nevada with locations throughout the state including, in Southern Nevada, Binion?s, Four Queens, Tuscany (just off the strip, east a few blocks on Flamingo Road) , Casino Valle Verde (formerly Thurstbusters, Henderson), and Stetson?s (Boulder Hwy, Henderson)...This line almost always has some differences from LV lines, especially in totals. Their 20c line breaks to 25c at -200, and 50c at -300.

By "Hilton" I mean the Las Vegas Hilton few blocks off strip at Sahara and Paradise road (opened as the International, where Elvis headlined), not the old Flamingo Hilton on the Strip.

The Alladin (where Elvis was married) has completed it's changeover to Planet Hollywood Casino. Very nice!

Planet Hollywood, Wynn Casino, Caesars properties and Golden Nugget offer NHL on their "daily parlay card". All 5.5 total lines are rounded down to 5, and moneylines to 1 (unless ML over -200 or so, then rounded to 2)...the exception is Wynn and Caesars properties--they round the 5.5 totals to 6 if the money on that 5.5 is over -120...ties lose on these parlay cards, you bet them by filling out a computer-read card and they offer better odds than an over-the-counter parlay.

-- Caesars includes Harrah's, Flamingo, Paris, Bally's, Imperial Palace, the Rio, Caesars Palace, and Bill?s (formerly Barbary Coast). Imperial Palace wanted $100 minimum sportsbet for one free lousy well drink ticket, Caesars $300! (last year was just any size bet)

Here's a good website that details the complex LV ownership.

-- Boyd Casinos: Fremont and California Casinos downtown, Gold Coast (by Rio and Palms), The Orleans down road, Sam's Town out Boulder Highway, Jokers Wild, Eldorado and Suncoast in northen suburbs) offer good 20 cent lines (break to 30 cent at -200, and 40 cent at -240). This book will also track your sportsbets to earn points for comps (about $1 worth of casino/restaurant credit for every couple of $500 or so risked), plus good free music and other comps--these are the casino I hang at in day. I believe Station Casinos do also track bets if you want, and offer phone and closed internet-loop betting for LV residents (LeRinkRat can explain this..)

-- The Cannery Casino in North Las Vegas just opened a new location ("East Cannery) on Boulder Highway and will track your bets too, offering "the best comps" in their players club. Their 20 cent line breaks to 25 cent at -200.

In North Las Vegas (a separate city that rivals Reno for class) also has the Poker Palace and Jerry's Nugget. Both deal 20c lines, at PP it breaks to 30c at only -160 and 40c at -200. The nice Rampart Casino, in Summerlin by Suncoast, has very inviting sportsbook--small, English country house style den and wood paneled.

Books that see little puck action, like Hard Rock, are great for parlays (usually chalk) of lines that move a lot in day elsewhere, as these places get so little action line hardly moves at all. Exception are LA teams at HR.

Haven't been to Lake Las Vegas casino.

The moneylines at El Cortez/Southpoint breaks into 1.5 pucklines at -300 and above. Caesar's did this last year also.

-- El Cortez/Southpoint: El Cortez is downtown, and South Point is several miles south of the strip with a nice new exit for it off I-15 now. Southpoint is owned by Michael Gaughn (founder and former owner of Coast Casinos) and his dad used to own El Cortez. Dad sold it earlier this year to some longterm partners, but still used numbers from Michael's book.

-- Leroy's sportsbooks with 20 cent line: About 60 locations throughout the state including the Riviera, Sahara, Hooters and Tropicana on the Strip; Fitzgeralds and the Golden Gate downtown; Gold Strike in Jean (20 miles south of Strip off I-15) and the Hacienda and Railroad Pass near Boulder City You can cash your Leroy's ticket at any location. There are dozen or so more locations thru out LV...The Riviera just spent 11 million bucks on a very nice sportsbook at the north end of the property.

-- Lucky?s: The Plaza downtown, Terrible?s, plus several Northern Nevada locations. Lucky's lines are virtually identical to Leroy's.

-- Station Casinos: Barley?s, Boulder Station, Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, Gold Rush, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station, Texas Station, Wildfire, Wild Wild West. They just opened Aliante Station way NW Las Vegas with sportsbook featuring three large screens that span 96 feet wide by 18 feet long. They offer "Sports Connection" phone betting and double limits on certain "key games" ($4K sides, $1K totals, these key games are usually very public teams on network or popular cable broadcast)

-- Stratosphere: Stratosphere, Arizona Charlie?s Decatur, Arizona Charlie?s Boulder Highway. Standard 20c line here, upto at least -175. at -240 breaks to 50c

-- Venetian: Venetian, Palazzo. As mentioned, unusual combination of 20c lines on sides, 30c on totals. They no longer had out free booze to all, but require a drink ticket. The Palazzo sportsbook is downstairs from the big check-in area and very desolate.
