Buddy, I read the article in the link above and I don't understand what you make of it. The author talks in circles and makes hints at justifying it (because it is biblical law) then spins into the usual defense of "it is up to us to interpret it". I don't quite understand how anyone can derive the good in an order to stone/kill anyone, but if you see the silver lining, it's all you. Furthermore, why would anyone try to teach a lesson (in which you have to interpret the true meaning) that could be taken literally and end in the death of a child?
My position is that the Bible is an awful book when it comes to giving direction on how to lead a moral life. You can point to all the good, but you have to address the repulsive.
