I'm all over my Hawkeyes tommarow as well...Yes, we have some injuries up front on the offensive line and not much of a running game, but it won't matter.
Don't worry about the Humpdome being empty tommarow--if all the Iowa cars we saw all day on the road on our drive up here to the Twin Cities this afternoon/evening is any indication, we Hawkeye fans are traveling even harder to this game than we usually do--and a usual Iowa/Minny game is about a 50/50 split in fans anyway.

Minnesota has a winning record only because they have a non-conference schedule consisting of Toledo. Illinois State-- a D-AA school, and Colorado State. Then, to open the Big-10 schedule theycaught Northwestern and Penn State, both at home and both poor teams. Then it was time to play some REAL football teams and lo and behold, they are now 6-4.
And I don't care how good those two backs are for the Gophers, NO ONE runs on Iowa's defense. NO ONE!!! Will it be a close game? I believe so. But I think Iowa gets an outright win in this one, and when we do, I just might try and help get the goalposts out of the Metrodome-- even though we proved two years ago that it can't be done...LOL

Now if you'll excuse me, there are a million beers waiting patiently for me and the fellas to drain...

Go Hawks!

Mason, Don't Let the Door Hit You in the A**...

Mason, Don't Let the Door Hit You in the A**...

...and take Tice with you. It's painful in this town dealing with two coaches who cannot get it done. Both of these guys are pathetic on-field strategists. Tice will say the last two Viking games were exciting and close, but bonehead decisions, penalties and god-awful defense will cause his firing -- maybe Red won't even wait until season end. As far as Mason...he's gone. I'm bummed there isn't another game next week so I can make more cash playing against the Gophers. Not sure if they'll be in a Bowl, but I hope so -- another profit opportunity.

bobby:

i dont know. this year really looks bad for him. his offense was loaded, with probably the best 1/2 combo the big 10 has seen in a long time in the backfield and they proved to be a fraud top 25 team when you look back on it. it seems his teams regress. then i look at a team like northwestern, who TRULY is overmatched athletically because of the type of student-athlete they recruit, and i see northwestern battling and improving as the year goes on. i know its not easy to win in a hockey-driven state and they dont have their own stadium, but they should still be better, especially this year

My point is that they hadn't been to a bowl before Mason got there since 1986. They always have backs that look great against the Louisiana Lafayette's and the Buffalo's of the world on the turf, but will get stymied in Big 10 play. There's no one who would fill his vacancy that is a better coach than Mason.
