Maybe it is taboo to like him in the world of sports? Just maybe media folk outside of Pitt fear they will loose their woman audience or clout by giving him the respect he is due? I posted in another thread that Big B is by far the best QB of the remaining 4 in the playoffs....some people/sports radio folk had him listed as the 4th best? :scared :sadwave:

The guy is an ABSOLUTE WARRIOR!!!Does he have off the field issues....yes. Did he need to get his ego back in check and become a better locker room guy? Yes...and this season he has. I am a Cowboy fan. Even if I was a Steeler fan, I would be wearing a Bettis, Troy P or Harrison jersey...not Big Ben's.

The guy is a 6th offensive lineman on the field, a guy who avoids sacks and makes plays with his feet, always seems to hustle and stretch for the extra yard to keep a drive alive. He has a cannon of an arm and is as clutch in winning situations as any QB of the past decade.

GUY IS AWEOME!! IF I WAS STARTING A FRANCHISE IN NFL AND HAD CHOICE OF QB....IT IS BIG BEN!!!

Yeah Brees got 1! Ben sucks balls. You are clueless. Just like he had a bad SB the 1st time but we won. Go look at his stats. Pittsburgh doesn't win 2005 bowl if Ben doesn't go bananas in the 1st 3 games. He was ridiculous 2 years ago in the BOWL. You have made ridiculous comments all day. But hey it's cool. I'm gonna have me a beer.

I WILL GLADLY TAKE HIM!!! :0074

Dude is a WINNER on Sunday's!!!

100% TRUE, he is fortunate to have the coaching and defense....but it is the intangibles he brings to the game that don't show up on the stat sheet that always impress me.

ONE WORD....CLUTCH!!!!!

not a big ben fan by any stretch...but he is underrated compared to all the nfl glamour boys.....

the guy just wins, makes plays, keeps plays going..

he may not have the best stats, in a stat driven league...but the only stat that matters is wins..and hes top 3 qb in my eyes

What does he have to do? Win a 3rd bowl and he'll still suck, be average, etc.. It's ridiculous to think he isn't the top 3 if not the best in the NFL right now.

SOCAL YO,

HE gets NO RESPECT compared to man crushes on Manning, Brady and Brees....ZERO!! It was all about Brady and Manning and Brees hit the scene with one GREAT year and he is the 3rd QB everyone talks about...not Ben. Now the talk is on Rodgers.

Media HATED him for being an A-Hole to reporters for so many years, cocky, and his off the field issues makes anyone nervous for giving him too much praise.

The reason he GETS respect is because you cant ignore what he does on the field. This past week on Inside the NFL....Colinsworth and gang clearly pointed out how much the media has actually despised him in the past and how much he has changed this year.....with the help of Tomlin, Ward etc. He is still young and has a lot of growing up to do. I am sure you will hear allt about this in the next two weeks.....

This dude is a first ballot hall of fame QB, and for a first ballot QB, he is the Rodney Dangerfield of the league....You ask me who I want at QB right now in a two minute drill in a big game....first name comes to mind without question is #7 on Pittsburgh....

always check your stuff and respect your opinions, but disagree largely here.

far from average IMO.

If he had a saints jersey on would you have the same opinion after two rings and heading towards a 3rd? Honest question not being smart. Like I said you seem like a cool dude.

Nothin average about him, starting with his size, strength, ability to get outta the pocket, etc...

average qbs take sacks.
average qbs have no rings.
average qbs arent 10-2 in postseason.
average qbs dont stand 6'5 and outsize half the linebackers on the field.
average qbs dont have great manbeards:facepalm:
alright that may have been a stretch.

but honestly if you think he is average, then I would be interested too see who your above average guys were.

guy wins, and wins a lot. nothing average about that IMO

ok hes above average

his defense and running game are what wins games in Pittsburgh. what would he be if his defense was say 25th in total defense?

he doesnt take a lot of sacks because of his size which is a plus, his stats are not like all the other QB's but yes he wins.

I think hes good but i dont see him as an elite QB even if he wins another SB. Just my opinion..

phillip rivers had the #1 defense this year and gets so much praise that it is truly pathetic, yet he don't have shit to show for it.

brady has been a great qb, but without video of the other team's signals, he has yet to win a playoff game since.

p manning for all his accolades has 1 sb ring, but a shit load of stats. the same number of rings that trent dilfer has.

ask any qb over the last 25 years and they would much rather have the hardware over nfl stat records.

big ben may not be flashy, but all he does is win. super bowl 40 he was nervous and awful, but his arm won all three road playoffs games to get them there, not the running game or the defense.

i know marino has said numerous times he would trade some of his numbers for a ring:0074
